Elio frequently travels alone on his journey, but it doesn't mean he won't enjoy the company of others - which he finds to be an enrichening experience. In fact, there are multiple times during his journey when he's traveling with someone - either temporary or long-term, with him and said individuals sharing the same goal(s) at the time; though it's normally one of his close friends or associates, there are certain cases where he's traveling with strangers he's just met.
