Hi i miss seeing your art when will you be back ?
well!!! first of all thank you for this message, it means a lot to hear my absence is noticed.. wow <3<3 secondly! im actually in the midst of theatre hell rn in the leadup to edinburgh fringe festival - it's our first time doing it (and my first time being so involved!!) and we're doing TWO shows because there is something wrong with us i think. if you're curious to hear more about that, feel free to mosey on over to my insta (@jacqal_art) or our website at halftrick.com :D

ur art style is so good!! do/did u go to an art school? and who r ur inspirations?
firstly thank you!! 💛 secondly, i haven't been to art school - i was always too scared! i did a game design degree where i learned some animation-related drawing skills, but i am more or less "self-taught".
thirdly... LOTS!! but here's a few. having not gone to art school and never studied art history, i am an uncultured swine, so most of these are online furry artists.

What are some bands/artists you're into?
NJ Whitey, 4th Curtis, AJJ, The I.L.Y's, Animal Collective, The Microphones. but i love listening to whatever the spotify machine brings me, and sometimes im into stuff thats really different from those guys. yknow how it is :) here's my playlist for anyone interested in that sort of thing

idk if this was ever the boat you were in but do have tips for furry artists who want to branch out into drawing humans just as well too?
i really Really rate drawing from life (as opposed to photos) whenever possible! practice constantly & remember it's NOT about the end result - it's about training your hand/eyes to effectively communicate form/movement/etc. draw shit that doesn't work and then move onto the next one. don't imagine an audience, don't get distracted trying to pretty it up. nothing suffocates art like the idea of making good art
um besides that get obsessed with a human character that brings you endless cringe joy. make one up if you have to. you can do whatever. start a whole sketchbook dedicated to neko catboy Kendall Roy kissing Jerma and never show anyone just fckign fiull it upppp

Favorite comic?
WELL..... not to be This Guy but homestuck fundamentally shaped me as a person & i adore it to this day. BUT.....! prequel (AKA making a cat cry: the adventure) is fucking incredible. i think about it constantly. i would really really recommend reading it, especially if youve played any elder scrolls games, Especially oblivion. seriously.
