Do you have any fun ideas and personalities for the kids of jaesi? What they are like as adults and what they do?
Ysela obvi trains under Estinien for a long while and eventually goes on scouting and hunt missions together. Her nigh-unmatched ability with the spear and unique use of a shield makes her popular with Ishgardians, since she strikes a similar silhouette to Halone. Many temple nights, lords and ladies have tried to court her, but to little effect. Having learned how to calm herself despite Nidhogg’s influence on her, her disposition as an adult is eerily tranquil and stoic. Tataru eventually seizes the opportunity to market Ysela as a hero in her own right, although she's definetly awkward under the spotlight.
I still have a ways to go to develop Y'onah more, but as of right now she's absolutely the more traditionally girly of the two. She's often seen with a Shiva-essence Carbuncle close by: an heirloom necklace from Jae'si enchanted to summon the Carby for protection whenever worn. She's a pictomancer and artist by trade, picking up traditional Sharlayan and Ishgardian education similar to her mothers. Unlike her sister, she revels in the attention she's afforded, often wearing frilly and glamorous dresses of Tataru and Jae'si's design.
I'm actually sad there's not formally a time skip in canon because I'd love to develop them more as actual adult characters along with the actual story.
Where does jaesi settle down to live with her children and spouses ? Does she ever take her kids to the steppe or introduce them to anyone in her life outside of main story?
After a brief stint in Sharlayan they formally settle down in Dravania with the kids, within easy traveling distance of the Zenith and Idyllshire aetherites. They often travel to and from Sharlayan and Ishgard via aetherite for schooling, training, and socializing so neither of them feels too secluded.
Jae eventually takes both daughters to the Steepe to be formally recognized as Dotharli. While neither was formally recognized as prior Dotharl in a past life, Ysela's connection to Nidhogg was clearly noted. Both are taught by Jae about their clan, and Sadu respects her enough not to allow any funny business among any in her clan with respect to Jae's daughters.
Are any of your wolkids close to any scions/ other npcs
Ysela is particularly close to Y'shtola, being somewhat of a secondary maternal figure to her, but outside of Jae'si's partners she isn't very close to many of the Scions.
Y'onah on the other hand is way more involved with many of the Scions, her favorites being G'raha and Tataru. The former often regails her with stories of Jae'si and the WoL. Tataru spoils both of Jae's daughters, but Y'onah in particular receives the brunt of it being the more traditionally girly of the two.
If your wol could bring back any npc that is currently perma dead back with no repercussions and with the npcs brain in tact, who would they bring back
Probably either Ysayle, Yotsuyu, or Venat in that order.
Jae obvi had legitimate feelings for Ysayle and her death felt undeserved and unnecessary in the grand scheme of things (I don't care what repercussions DSU implies) and would love a world where she can see the fruits of her own labor. I actually have an au where she lives and still play with the idea of making it canonical (despite the mess it would create with Jae and Esti's already messy polycule).
Jae doesn't have a particularly close relationship with Yotsuyu, but she always regrets the way her story ended. Both are victims of abuse,
but Jae turned out the way she did due to the love she revieved from others. Despite all of Yotsuyu's wrongdoings, Jae still wanted the opportunity to pay those kindness forward to someone who could've needed it. Her death felt all too short and undeserved, and it vexes Jae even to this day.
Venat's demise feels the most tragic in Jae'si's eyes. To my understanding, Venat was the only one of the Ancients not to rejoin the lifestream, effectively gone in every sense of the word. Had Jae'si the ability, she would at the very least try to bring her back into that cycle so that she could see the fruits of her labor. She deserves to see the result of her actions bearing not just strife and indifference, but community and love among the people of Etheirys. An edit to canon I might make in the future is keeping a shard of her essence in some form or fashion within the shards of Allegoria Jae'si uses for her weapons, as I feel Venat deserves at least some level of reverence as Azem does.
Does jaesi have a love interest that "got away"?
I've made mention of it before but Jae had a crush on Sadu for most of her life (both the prior iteration of Sadu through stories as well as the current individual) but due to a lot of disagreements between the two, it never worked out. They've had instances of causal sex, but never love. Sadu had even propositioned Jae'si as her mate at one point, Jae being hailed as the Kahgan at a brief point in time, but she ultimately backed down. While Jae loves her people, being back in the Steppe for too long brings about a deep sadness for Jae, and Sadu cares for her too much to ask she stay in any permanent fashion with her.
Going forward into Dawntrail what is Jaesi doing ? Is she still traveling with WOL business or doing her own thing ?
After getting her formal education in Sharlayan, she's mostly just been a stay at home mom for Ysela and baby Y'onah. She'll occasionally follow Y'shtola or Tataru on their less strenuous trips with the children in tow, but for the most part she's on extended vacation up until and including their visit to Tural.
Does Sejlkie meet Zenos, and if so does she get along with him seeing as she has a sadistic habit of hurting people
They actually fight at some point in Stormblood 1v1! In a way she's a prototype to Zenos' ability as a Resonant. When he first tests his abilities, they pit her against him. She ultimately loses, being unarmed and somewhat malnourished during the fight, but still gives him a run for his money.
Her sadistic tendencies only extend to those she feels are morally bankrupt people, and that at least initially includes Zenos, so she doesn't really like him much. She DOES enjoy fighting him though.
Is there any secret jaesi has that she has not told her partners?
She hasn't made mention to either of her partners that the volatile essence and subsequent overuse of her abundance of aether prior to Endwalker has potentially shortened her lifespan. While she expelled the majority of excess light aether she accumulated on the First, it had permanently altered her physiology enough to now have what is akin to permanent Light Aether sickness. The illness would, after a time, slow the pace of her heart and brain, manifesting symptoms comparable to Alzheimers.
Y'shtola is smart enough to have pieced things together, but at present time, hasn't brought the problem up. She figures Jae'si will speak on it when ready, and would just like to spend her current days happy with her family. Part of her motivation for researching universal shard travel is to research the latent Aether on the First more carefully in order to produce a cure.
Outside of canon events, have jaesi and her partners ever gotten into arguments that were serious?
Estinien and Jae'si go at it constantly, although a lot of times it's over frivolous domestic things (Esti tracking mud in, Jae being overly jealous/nosy, etc. Otherwise, nothing particularly serious that doesn't just result in screaming for an hour or hate sex later.
Y'shtola and Jae'si had to get over a lot of barriers with how they go about their relationship. What few arguments they have had together, they've been in regards to things like Jae's coddling of Y'shtola's disability, or talks about who would carry their child, have been proper serious arguments. They had to work through their relationship at times but it made both their love for each other more sincere in the end.
Who were the ones who named jaesi's kids?
With 'Ysela' it was entirely Jae'si's idea. She's the type of parent to try to come up with a super 'unique' name and settled on a partial anagram of 'Ysayle' in hopes Estinien would like it.
With 'Y'onah', despite Y'shtola not being incredibly in touch with her tribe, she still preferred a name in keeping with their traditional conventions. She would not say so outright, but Jae'si picked up on her tells enough to gather that's what would make her content.
Between both their last names, Jae'si opted to have both her daughters keep the surnames of her respective partners (Ysela Varlineau and Y'onah Rhul). 'Malheur' is not Jae'si's birth surname, and so it didn't feel right to have either child take it.
How well does jaesi prepare for the weather , does she just go with the flow , overly prepare and does she make it everyone's problem
Absolutely makes it everyone's problem. If it's cold she'll be prepared with an extra scarf and ready to button up any low-cut tops. She a little more lax with Ysela given her high tolerance to the cold, but Y'onah is bundled up in at least 3 layers anytime they're in Ishgard or Sharlayan ❄️🥶
Do you have any plans for jaesis kids , thought about them in the future at all?
Yep! I want to eventually have them involved as a sub in for Jae'si in the story at some point. Only problem is Ysela and Y'onah are only 7yo and 1yo respectively by the beginning of Dawntrail, so they can't really do much unless there's eventually a MSQ timeskip. Ysela would already be learning from Estinien to be a dragoon, but given her nature as both a prodigy and a rebel, is already putting her own spin on the job. Tentatively, this job is called a "Templar", a heavily armored spear and shield wielding knight (taking heavy inspiration from the FFTA job of the same name as well as FFTA's version of dragoon; dragon breath and all). Y'onah will eventually by a pictomancer, although given she's just a baby a lot can change with her. She'll mostly be carried around by Jae on vacation while her wife does MSQ stuff with the WoL.
Does Jae'si's bunny friend have any lore outside of being from her troupe / being her friend
Yeah actually! Not a ton but at least a lil of his backstory. He trained from an early age as a wood-warder in a forest (or jungle, that part of the map isn't fleshed out in game yet) relatively close to Dalmasca. He was an incredibly prodigal archer but didn't care much for being a warder, and would constantly get scolded for goofing off. Around the viera village his group defended, he would always hear a young viera a little bit older than him singing on certain nights, and he would often leave his post to go listen.
They eventually discovered he had been listening from the treeline and they eventually met and became friends. He obviously wasn't allowed in the village, but would lie in the outskirts, listening to his friend sing and giving them gifts and regailing them with stories from outside the village.
Unfortunately, an unforeseen raid on the village (or natural disaster, I don't know yet) would see his friend's tree-home catch flame while he was away. While he tried to go attend to their rescue, his wood-warder group had him tend to more immediate matters in the village at the time. They passed before he could get to them, and he deserted his village soon after.
His name, Falsetto Farin, is in reference to his favorite thing, which from what I understand is a naming convention for lone viera. 'Falsetto', for the person he first loved, and 'Farin' meaning 'gone' in Icelandic (the origin of the accent viera have in most FF lore). As an adult he's a wisecracking, jovial bard, but he always carries that weight and pain, easily visible on his face by those close to him.
Would Sejlkie fuck Magnai
She would top the life out of him, absolutely, if only as a power move. She likes bringing people's ego down when she finds them too arrogant, and Magnai has a massive superiority complex. He's, deep down caring enough, though, that his personality doesn't repulse her entirely. Physically, he fits her taste and could at least maybe handle her for some time before giving out. She also likes that he's a bit of a simp, as worship/ teasing/ denial is a fairly big kink for her.
Who has the dirtiest mind in the jaeyshtolaesti polycule?
It's fairly close between Jae and Y'shtola but they both beat each other out in different ways such that I can't say one way or the other.
Jae grew up a heavy reader and a theatre kid, so she's a freak in the way a lot of fanfic writers are. Like, her capacity for creativity in that area far exceeds what she might willingly be able to actually do in person. Y'shtola is dirtier in a more traditional sense, in that what she will suggest or do exceeds the lengths Jae'si might initially think to actually do, at least at first (S&M play, exhibitionism, etc.) It cannot be understated that these are still very small margins of difference and they are both very much absolute degenerates who do things like marking each other in public or cold/heat play with magic resulting in light burns or bruises. By comparison, Estinien is vanilla as hell by comparison and thinks they're both absolute batshit crazy but still keeps up a respectable amount.
