I’d love to do writing of This Sort of Thing with my own OCs - is there any way to get eyeballs on it without my doing art (which I can’t do)?

Well since I mostly do art and only a little writing I don't really have tips for it but I think you should go for it wether or not there are other eyeballs on it, eventually if you tag things it should fall in front of someone who's bound to enjoy it. That's pretty much what I did with my OCs and my art, I started posting my art at 11 on DeviantArt and I just kept doing it until now, the fact that there are people interested in it is not much more than algorithmic luck.
Just keep wherever you are posting your writing clean of personal stuff and unrelated memes and use the tools given to you by the website (tags, groups, etc). Joining some OC writing groups or challenges and interacting with other OC writers can help too. Oh yeah and resist the temptation to use generative AI to do visuals for your writing of course, if you would like some visuals to maybe help catch attention to your writing be cool and commission that stuff, use the sims, take pictures, make montages, etc… But writing can totally stand on it's own. Maybe include a little out of context paragraph you like and think might draw people in with the summary so they can get a taste of your writing style.
