The newsman says an increasing number of people have been putting 'mother' on their resume/CV as part of their job history (in response to workplace bias against mothers and to explain long periods of unemployment) is this something you can get behind?

Yeah absolutely. A lot of employers ask why women have gaps in their resume and many are embarrassed or feel ashamed to say they were being mothers. But that role is insane. They should be prideful of the work they’ve done. Dads too! They deserve recognition because there’s a lot of them who don’t think watching their own kids is baby sitting and that’s important!
