The James Webb Space Telescope is expected to cost NASA around 10-11 billion US dollars. Some might say that the money should be spent on humanity's more immediate needs instead. What do you think? Do you think space exploration is a waste of money?

NASA budget is a small fraction of the entire US budget and abysmally small compared to the military budget. Part of that budget is gained by unfair trade and unfair methods squeezing out money from other countrys. If you would spent the NASA budget on aid for exactly those same countries without removing the unfair trade rules it would be uselessly spent money. For me the money spent on science and exploration is well invested into the future and into the minds of people. While spending a huge slice of the entire budget on military power in order to establish power to threaten everybody else is not exactly an investemtn into the future, it is inducing hate and unfairness for further generations, which will greatly affect us all in the foreseeable future.
