Sure. Cosplay is about the fun, is it? I've seen female Marios, I've seen really big Marios, tiny Marios, Marios with blonde hair, Marios the size of Kongs, Marios looking like Marias, children Marios, adult Marios.. nothing can keep you away from the fun to cosplay as you wish. Maybe only the sword size is a problem. Saw a girl with a sword she was unable to lift in the long run, I'd not use material for swords that has a high weight in case you carry it around. It is impractical but if you make it from plastics it should work.
