How far (in terms of time) are you willing to commute for in order to have well paid work?

Roughly about an hour or so. it is counterbalanced by the need for transport and a habitat. Far away often means cheaper houses or flats but also more time and cost for means of travel since well paid jobs are more likely to be found in larger cities. Really well paid work often requires a person to move not only closer to work but literally to work. Live inside a campus, close to a manufacturing complex, never leave your financial institutions skyscaper. My balance is therefore about an hour because money isn't everything a job should provide. It should be rewarding on more levels. I do not want to pay myself for a job with lifetime or a daily miserable routine. Yes, I know many folks are forced to do so. And yes, I do know I am privileged to chose less money and lesser career opportunities versus much more money and being chained to a rudder.
