This is not an in character question, but I'm curious. A lot of people cycle what animal or in your case pokemon they chose as their sona. Did you have a pokemon you chose as a sona before Monferno/Infernape?
My first sona was actually a Pachirisu! But that was an entirely different character pretty much.
If you mean what kind of Pokemon I would consider for Chance in place of Chimchar/Monferno/Infernape, that's a tough one... I think Flareon, Mienshao, and Nidoking would be my next best candidates.
