hello! question about writer apps! I was wondering why samples cannot be longer than 2,000 words but the actual story written for the zine can be up to 2,500? In order to showcase how a writer would use the 2,500 words in the zine, would it make sense to allow up to 2,500 word samples? Or, if not, then is the hard limit exactly 2,000 words or is it possible to go over (by 100, 200 words)?
Hello there, thank you for your question! We keep the word limit by 2K (not more than a sentence or two) mostly because we have a lot of fic samples to read! Asking for 3 around 2K samples already leaves us with 6K of words per writer and since we would like to take our time reading all your beautiful work we decided to keep the application wordcount lower than what you are allowed to write inside the zine itself. Additionally to this we would like to see if there can be a nice balance between quantity over quality given!
In short; Please keep your samples as close to 2K as possible, one or two sentences over! Thank you for reaching out!
