I was going to ask about to which extent does the Whitehouse song apply to NewJeans, but I'll ask this instead: is NewJeans's concept meaningfully different from the Loonaverse, or BTS's storyline? What about Twice's Likey MV, which also had a meta commentary on idol life hidden in it? Though Likey doesn't have the artsy vibe, so how different does that make it?
The presence of the meta commentary about idol life is fairly different to other broad k-pop concepts, it isn't the contentious issue and in fact THAT part of NewJeans' concept I quite like. It's the aesthetics of that commentary that are the issue, rather than the commentary itself.
