Did you ever played Mugen Kairou from Black Cyc?
Have you played Mushitsukai or the pre extravaganza?
Not yet, but I want to get around it somewhat soon. I mean, I played the og Tsui no Sora after playing Subahibi, and I don't see any reason not to do the same thing with Extravaganza. I kind of expect Mushitsukai to leave a slightly better impression than Tsui no Sora even, because Izumi Ban'ya is... more consistent with his quality imo? Like, SCA-Ji has higher highs, but something like Tsui no Sora also has pretty low lows. Well, this might be a weird comparison, so ignore me lmao
Don’t know if another parade game will be coming out any time soon since Ouju no Shima just came a couple of months ago and based on the possibility Akutsu and Amemiya are the same person, maybe it still might not happen yet.
But anyways, what would you want to come out of parade’s next game? I actually want something like a yaoi version of Maggot baits lol
Ouju no Shima was actually directed by a different person because Akutsu Ryou was unavailable. However, the general idea is still right because Akutsu announced Ori earlier which was delayed indefinitely despite the initial plan to release it in June 2021. It's been a long time, huh? I imagine we should blame covid, but in any case, I don't expect Amemiya to return with a new game before the release of Ori
Even though I enjoyed NTY the most, I usually prefer darker vibes of something like Lkyt, so I wouldn't mind a gory title. I don't really want an action-heavy story, but I'm not completely against it either, and I'll be glad to see Kurashiki again as the main writer. Now that I think about it, I'm a sucker for fucked up villages, so I'd be interested in seeing a BL version of Erewhon (I should actually play this game first...)
Not sure if you already read this part of Good Haro’s blog, but the last couple paragraphs seem to supplement the theory that Amemiya and Akutsu are the same person kinda like how Hamashima and Norizane have different names under parade (although it’s way more obvious because of their art style)
http://blog.19.04se.cc/2016/06/room-no-9-july-cool-b-interview-w-director-amemiya/
Is Akutsu Ryou still sick? Also is he the same person (director of parade) as Amemiya Mitsuru?
He doesn't have much of a public presence, so it's a bit hard to judge. I mean, it looks like he still does some PR/web work for Clock Up, so I'd like to believe he's in a good enough shape, at least.
Also, I don't think there is any proof to confirm that Akutsu and Amemiya are the same person, but I can see it as a possibility. They share a similar vision and work with a similar team (Hamashima, Norizane, Kurashiki, Izumi Ban'ya—all these people mostly worked with them in 2010s)
Not sure if you noticed but the ‘Prince’ from Minagoroshi is opposite-voiced? Do you think they will be a male character with a slightly feminine voice or are they a reverse trap?
I usually don't pay attention to VA, but at this point, I tend to believe that the prince might be a girl as well, since the game gives off a strong yuri vibe. Unless it's just a minor side character who doesn't have any h-scenes. Otherwise, I imagine that the team would warn us beforehand if the game had any MxF scenes, like Bug System did with Manakashi
i heavily respect how youre not just into straight eroge but also otomes and BL vns thank you for your service! i think youd enjoy the otome jooubachi no oubou based on your pinned
Thank you for your kind words! I'm always searching for good stories and new emotions, so it'd be a shame to overlook such a big part of the medium just because "it's not for men" or whatever. I still have some otome and BL games that I want to play, so I'll get around them when I feel the right mood
hypnotizes everyone into watching Sasaki and Miyano
Thoughts on minagoroshi after the relationship chart in the flyer released?
The chart looks mostly like a meme, but I prefer it like this anyway. Looks like we're going to see a bunch of dominating/arrogant/mesugaki-ish girls who would try to show the protagonist where she belongs (I haven't read the character introductions on the website so I might be wrong though). And I won't be surprised to see all of them dying horribly once you don't feel any pity for them
How did you feel about Natsu no Kusari as a character study? Also interesting how Taxi Driver was mentioned in one of the VN’s endings
(to think a nukige would make me interested in a movie lol)
That was one of my favorite things about the game because the portrayal of the protagonist was pretty cool. I don't remember much at this point, but I think I especially enjoyed the forest section and the panic state of his mind. The fact that he isn't just a simple-minded villain but has more sides to his personality. But yeah, I still hoped to see more of his good traits, perhaps something like a longer version of the final ending
I mean, I read Pebble in the Sky and The Door Into Summer thanks to G.O., so it's always nice when one piece of fiction motivates to explore another. Even if we speak about porn, lol
The website for Shikabane Maid-chan seems to be permanently down since last time I checked, its domain was for sale :( I’m guessing the site was never archived?
Looks like it's still accessible through the web archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20190712021347/http://www.monometa.com/meido_top.htm
Do you know if Ori from Clockup is still in development?
Any vn genre you would like to see ban'ya write one day?
I'd probably prefer other writers for that, because I'm mostly fine with the stuff Izumi Ban'ya is writing already and don't really want him to shift to something else. But I'd be happy to see a bigger journey like Mugen Renkan once again with the passage of time, vastly different locations and all that jazz
Yeah for me Fraternite had the most interesting concept since it was the one that was actually somewhat realistic. I quite liked the writing of Saeko, Megumi, and Taichi’s onee-san also.
Would you say it’s one of the weakest scenarios by Izumi Ban’ya? Although I’ve only read his stuff from NTY, SadBlood, Euphoria, Shikabane, and Extravaganza Matsuro.
Izumi was one of the contracted writers, so he was just writing alongside the plot that he was given. It's not his personal project, so I didn't have any big expectations from his output there. Same thing goes for NTY and euphoria
Good thing, Izumi actually mentions this stuff on his blog, and I tried to replicate it while I was filling the info on vndb, so you can find his real creative output a bit easier (just focus on keywords like Planning/Plot/Director while looking at his page)
I do agree with you on Fraternite being the weakest out of the Hamashima trio, but why do you think it’s one of the weakest?
I do also remember that scene in GSS and I’m surprised Steam published it, even if it’s a super cut down version with the R18 patch on the JAST website.
Ironically enough though, JAST Blue had problems trying to make Slow Damage available on Steam because of the topics regarding CSA but it’s not like there were actually any H-scenes depicting it, so I have no idea why they didn’t follow the same example as GSS, lol.
I enjoyed pretty much all games that I've played to a certain extent. I guess Natsu no Kusari was the only one that I hoped would be a bit different. I expected more emotional episodes and chemistry between the characters, considering that this person wrote euphoria before (which had its own share of problems, but this is beside the point). As for Fraternite, I barely remember anything at this point. I think the game felt somewhat aimless and lacked a proper catharsis?.. I mean, I get the concept, but it looked like the team didn't manage to convert it into a captivating story
Just to be clear, I still haven't played yourou, Erewhon, and Ouju no Shima. And Room No.9 if we count parade
As for Slow Damage, I can only speculate, but yeah, I wish it was available on Steam since this is pretty much the only digital PC store that I still can use in this country to support VNs
