Couple of questions regarding artists collaborating with a writer.
1) Is there a set image size for the spot illustration?
2) Will the writer need to sacrifice word count to make room for the illustration?
3) Is there a page limit the writer needs to adhere to?
4) The artist can't start drawing until the writer writes the story, which gives them less time to complete their contribution. How will this be mitigated?
5) Will the artist and writer have a say in how their writing and art are formatted?

Hello! Please see our answers below:
1), 2) and 3) For collaborations, there is no set image size for illustrations and no hard page limit for writers. Writers are also not required to “sacrifice” their word count for the illustrations. However, all this is bearing in mind that out of fairness for other creators on the zine, we have to keep the page count for collaborating writers and spot artists reasonable. The mod team will work together with collaborating writers and spot artists to keep the scale of the deliverables in check.
4) The exact mechanics for collaborations are still being worked out, so we are unable to give an exact answer at this time. Though the timeline for spot artists will indeed be slightly shorter compared to page artists, collaborating writers and spot artists will be following a modified schedule that will give them ample time to finish their pieces.
5) Yes, they do have a say in formatting, and are encouraged to share their ideas with the team, but the final decision will be made by the formatting mod.

We hope that answers your questions!
