I think generative AI pretty awful to use in most circumstances, and it's not good that businesses are trying to use it to replace real artists and writers. That said though, I also think it's a bubble that will inevitably pop just like most other tech fads. LLMs as a model seem to be reaching a point where it'll require exponentially more time and data for the smallest of gains, and I think it'll only get harder and harder to profit off of them as time goes on. So I'm not particularly afraid of them taking over either.
