Omfg one of the few anime i've actually watched and remembering it makes me so sad 😭 YESSS I CAN SEE THE PARALLELS SO WELL. I don't remember every details, but I remember David being really close with his mom and always remembering her, very caring person who was driven by love. Iso being a victim to the system and used for his abilities, being the best at what he does and having a very unique power that makes him legendary in a way. Not to mention someone who probably keeps their guard up in the beginning but gets their walls broken down by someone like Gekko. And then, well, we know how it's ends... 🥹

My Gekko hc is that he doesn't swear bc he doesn't want his buddies to learn bad words. Even when he's not around his crew he still doesn't swear just so he won't accidentally let one slip when they're in earshot again. Also I don't think his buddies really listen to other people so someone else swearing doesn't bother them and Gekko doesn't pay attention to it to teach the little guys to do the same. I think he's very protective of his crew and it genuinely hurts his feelings when people don't like them/find them annoying etc. bc they're almost like an extension of him at this point :')
Oh geez it's so hilarious because even though I don't think Gekko swears like a sailor, he might say damn or shit when something especially bad or annoying happens 😭 but I only say this because of his voicelines - in reality I could totally see him as someone who doesn't say bad words so that he doesn't influence his crew because goodness knows they pick up on a lot of his behaviors/traits. They're very connected like you said. And he was so serious in the voicemail to Brim about Deadlock trying to lock them up. He doesn't play about his crew at all.

Super soft and sweet isekko thought, what about iso learning to play smth for gekko like a song for like an anniversary or smth, like gekko loves hearing iso hum or quietly sing along to whatever he has playing in his headphones, so like iso takes that knowledge he gets someone to teach him how to play guitar and everything like he isn't a singer by anymeans but goddamn will he put his all into this and not only is he learning guitar for gekko he learns a song SPECIFICALLY in spanish for him,, im thinkin "te amo y mas" from book of life bc its super sweet but its also simple spanish :]
Ahh I just listened to the song and it's so sweet - thank you for introducing me to it 😭 This is such a cute idea... I wonder if Reyna would be the one to help Iso out, since we know she plays guitar from Clove's voiceline and speaks Spanish. Not to mention maybe he'd go to her because he knows she probably is the closest with Gekko. Iso doing everything in his power to make sure it goes perfect 💜

Silly hc, isekko sleeping habits. Iso sleeps like a rock, he used to sleep super light but after being with the protocol and gekko for so long, nah that man will sleep through natural disasters if you let him but also he just NEVER MOVES, dude will lay flat on his back all night. Pan to gekko in the same bed with iso,he will starfish out and roll around every inch of the bed if you let him, theres been countless occasions of gekko absolutely just rolling all over iso in the middle of the night and iso could care less bc he's so DEEP IN SLEEP
Aww that's so cute! I always imagined Iso as a light sleeper, but the idea of him being more comfortable to indulge in a deep sleep because of his new environment is so wholesome. And then there's Gekko being Gekko, who flops around however he wants. Sometimes they have to share the bed with the radivores as well and even though it's a bit cramped, they both love it.

Another isseko hc, I think is funny is, both love music right, so like they both share music with one another but also gekko being gekko, I like to think he obviously doesn't just listen to music in English he's def got some Spanish in there sprinkled throughout and when he shares music with iso I like to think that if u listen close enough iso is just listening to like peso pluma or smth and its like "does he understand it?" No, not one bit but damn does it go hard so he'll stay listening
AHH I forgot to check my retrospring. This is cute I love the idea of them sharing music, especially when it's in another language. Gekko with Spanish, Iso with Chinese. They both might slip in a love song that the other can't understand, but in a way it feels like a confession to the other. Then maybe they start even looking into learning a few words in the other's language just to understand aah 😭

ok so i went and watched the first episode and holy moly i can totally see it 😭 it'll take me a while to finish but i'm so invested now. makes me think of an isekko mafia au that i would, like, totally be down to write one day if no one else does (though idk much about the mafia lol). ty for suggesting it!

ahh i've heard about alien stage, but i actually am not caught up with it at all... i did see a lot of people freaking out about round 6 though, and even watching both of the mvs for the songs you suggested, the storytelling and angst through the mvs and music itself is so good omg. i can definitely see it being isekko coded too and now i'm all sad WAAAH 😭

I have to prevent being bias because I hate it personally, but if we're talking GEKKO then like...I think he would? I feel like he's one of those guys that eats just about anything tho. Probably not his preferred flavor if I had to guess though? I feel like he'd be more of a fruity flavor guy

Isekko hc more iso centric but i like to think iso initially comes off to be stoic but the minute you warm up to him he's a silly guy, like he just says whatever comes to thought without thinking like gekko will swear up and down to the other agents that iso says some dumb shit but they don't believe him meanwhile iso is getting a kick outta gekko being so adamant and flustered that no one believes him 💀

They seem so them? And like I just cant wait to see what else u create! But also as some whos re-read Renegade like 3 times now..I need more of this version of isekko please 😭😭🫶💕🫶💕
I'm so glad that you enjoy my writing! It feels like so long since I've written RENEGADE and it makes me so happy that people still enjoy it, even with it being one of my earlier stories and being heavily canon divergent. When you say this version of isekko, do you mean this AU specifically where Iso is assigned to kill Gekko? Or just the way their dynamic is written? I haven't really considered going back to the "Iso has to assassinate Gekko* AU since I'm not really sure what direction I'd go with the story to make it different from RENEGADE, but I would love to try and create something similar in the future for everyone ^^
