You say that with such confidence as if I knew the answer to that. I dislike plenty of my own paintings, and do think that is actually healthy to some degree. You want some desire to get better after all, and to make your next painting better than the last.

But I guess the way I view it is that at some point the art I make shifts and becomes something that isn't meant for me anymore, so it's somewhat easier to let go of those thoughts. I'm involved in the making, the process is the part that is for me, the sharing of what I've made as well, but the actual picture itself I guess, I just see as being for other people, not for myself.
Once it's out there that's just it, my involvement in it is over, and so idk, I don't really carry around negative feelings for them anymore.
They are what they are. As I mentioned in the description of Augenblick, it's a couple of my days pressed into a moment for those who look at it, and so at that point it's for them.
