What about guitar solos? What are the best?
i'mma be honest i really just didn't have an answer for this one... sorry
What's your favourite riff?
so many good options... i'll give four
僕、実は from SHISHAMO 2 consistently gets stuck in my head. It's not a super intricate riff, but it flows well and like... it's just really good lol
バケノカワ from Polkadot Stingray's 何者 is very silly and tickles a neurodivergent nerve in my brain
Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven is, memes aside, a very beautiful riff that i think deserves its popularity, even if people mostly know it for the Wayne's World gag
and i'm not normally a Weezer fan but Undone (The Sweater Song) is a very... interesting riff. like, it's weird and i like it, and i think that's kinda Weezer's thing and... it works
What do you think about live music? Have you seen any good performers live?
I find live performance to be very impressive, mostly in terms of pressure. Like, being able to play an instrument well is already a lot of time and commitment, but being able to do it on the spot with a bunch of people watching you requires nerves that I do not have.
I've seen a number of live performances by local artists (which I won't name because I don't want to publicise where I live lol), and I always enjoy them to some degree. I think there's some weird bias in my mind that makes me inherently enjoy music when in the setting of a live show. Like, to a degree, it feels more about the experience and the people around you than it does about the music.
How many CDs do you have in your collection?
Only 12 as of now. I quit my job at a sort of awkward time and haven't had money to spend on music lol
Most of them are Green Day albums, as I mentioned in the earlier answer, and the rest are sort of miscellaneous things that I've found at various stores where I live. My 13 year old self would probably cringe at the fact that I own a K-pop album (UNFORGIVEN by LE SSERAFIM) but, y'know what, it's good. I wish I was able to get more of the J-rock albums I used to listen to on Spotify, but a lot of them are either very expensive because of shipping, or just straight up don't exist on CD (or at least, not anywhere that I can find them).
When I have more income, Polkadot Stingray's Nanimono and Odoru yo ni are my top priorities to get. I have the band's first two albums, Zenchizenno and Uchoten, and so getting those two would mean I have all of their albums. After which, the pillows (specifically spelled in lowercase, they stylise it like that) are a band I've been wanting to get albums from. I don't have any currently, and they have enough of a presence in the states that I've actually found copies of their stuff from US sellers.
Who's your favourite guitarist?
Answering in terms of personal relevance, Polkadot Stingray's Shizuku is probably the one. Especially in their earlier albums, I rarely listen to a PS song and think "yeah i could do that". Of course the band's second guitarist, Harushi Ejima, would be worth mentioning by the same logic.
What kind of music do you like?
mostly genres of rock. i used to be basically exclusively into J-rock/J-pop, but I've recently become a lot more interested in American/English bands as well. Green Day was the first band I focused on when I started collecting CDs; I have all of their albums from Kerplunk (1991) to 21st Century Breakdown (2009). Also been getting into Nirvana because of my sister.
when it comes to bands I'm super passionate about, it's mostly J-rock because of how extensively I listened to it as a young teenager. Polkadot Stingray is like, my #1, but SHISHAMO and MOSHISMO also have a pretty firm place in my heart.
Have you ever pet a bnuuy?
no :(
can i download you
you’d need at least 6 terabytes of space to fit all of my silliness
Do you want more things than you need?
i'm a guitarist, i want new instruments every time i go to buy strings
jokes aside though, i think i've gotten good at being content with the things i have. i mean, i've been using my first guitar amp for years without ever wanting a new one because it just works. i've had like, two effect pedals for years without wanting more (and also my amp has effects built into it, again, goated). my last instrument acquisition was... like, a week ago, but i promise it was necessary i needed a new bass! i have realistically everything i would need to record a full album, except maybe a better microphone for vocals? and my only consistent urge to get new equipment has been really really wanting a telecaster because im hyperfixated on a band that uses teles a lot
did you know youre like super cool and sexy we should make out
omg im flattered hehe i agr wait i forgot to click the anonymous button shit
