like everything we come up with, its mostly about the love me and darcy hold for each other, and how many different ways we can exaggerate and splice that. these guys give us something soft and warm to attribute otherwise unapproachable topics and dynamics, and feel airtight in that comfort. sort-of like a spiritual succesor or alt to one of our older projects, Shitverse. if anything becomes of this, like a series/comic/whatever, then i think the themes would get more specific. i could definitely swirl my drink and say theres something about trust there, foreverbonds, multi-faceted relationships, growing into oneself, mutual dependency, and so on. there wouldn't be focus away from the relationships and on, for example, something like april's mom, who is less of a character and more of a natural explanation. no matter how much hurt sophie and mason feel there is no Hurt towards one another. one of my favorite artists and inspirations, Avvy, (@bo2lbrush) puts it best in her bio: To confine desire to what holds sweetness / how small desire would be
darcy-- There is a type of human connection that is infinite, culpable, and absolutely beautiful I have worked very much to be a part of. These characters of ours I would love to be able to share certain truths about connection, not through lessons but being able to listen to an observable experience. In this same way, it myself and Mikey to contextualize, visualize, and recognize what we experience and how we experience them. For one reason or another, reality can be hard for me to grasp, and I have dedicated myself to finding that reality...
I guess a bit of a series response, but these are aspects of myself that bleed into everything I create. They are, simply put, just characters, and we're just painting a story over time through love. It is not original, or extraordinary, it's simply genuine. People have sonar for that, and whatever our characters or stories are able to offer to people, then that's art right there.
