A friend of me got hugged my my landlady who is a very curvy lady and he desperately struggled to avoid squeezing her boobs while she had no problem with real physical contact. How do you hug?
Having boobs is like having ears. They serve a purpose, but until you actually need them for something specific (like keeping your glasses on your head) you kind of forget they’re there. And people with larger boobs are so used to them getting in the way of everything that being squashed against another person while hugging doesn’t even register.
