How many people will be involved in this zine?
hello!! there will be a total of 21 people involved, including mods and artists ♡‧₊˚
how many artists will be apart of this zine?
hello!! with a total of 20 artists, there will be 6 guest artists, 4 illustration artists, 3 fashion studies and 3 merch artists. This will be a small project, but we will try our best to accommodate everyone ♡‧₊˚
Are we allowed to put collaborations in our portfolios? As in something that isn't done 100% by us but we did work on (and have permission to share ect)?
hello!! As long as you get permission to share those pieces and properly tag it as a collaboration, it is up to you to choose if your examples best represents your work, but we would recommend that, in the file with 3 examples, you choose carefully artwork pieces, that best shows your habilities in all the steps of the process.
What kind of document are you looking for to submit the 3 examples? (ex: .pdf, .doc, etc.)
Hello!! We are accepting any format, but preferentially, pdf or doc would be the easiest for our mods, as it allows us to see the document without downloading it, but a single image with 3 examples can also work! Just make sure that your examples maintain quality and are well organized ✨
Hello! For the portfolios, can we upload a PDF on Google Drive vs the images on their own? This wouldn't be for our 3 pics, just additional art!
Hello!! For your portfolios, you can submit it in whatever format you prefer! Just make sure to check all sharing settings, so that our mods can have easy access to your files!
hi, I would like to apply for more than one role but the application form states I should put 3 examples of my works. Should I send 3 examples for each role (so for example 3 illustrations and 3 merch work) or divide my 3 slots between the roles I want (so like 2 illustration and 1 pic of merch)?
Hello!! We would recommend to just send 3 artworks and divide them by the roles you're choosing, to help us make it easier to see all portfolios, but we'll be accepting submissions that have 3 examples per role, as well ♡‧₊˚
Hello, what are the mods experiences with zines, especially with modding roles? It's nowhere to be found, and concerning if the whole team is new to this business
Since we have already answered similar questions, please check the previous answers for more info.
We understand your concern, and are working extremely hard to provide the best experience to all supporters/contributors.
We don't want our lack of experience to be a deciding factor to whether we can bring life to this passion project and believe that Contributors go into a fanzine, knowing that they're working on a passion project, rather than a profitable one.
What kind of zine experience do the mods have, esp. with finance and production since this is a physical zine?
hello!! as mentioned in a previous question, this is our first time creating a zine, but most of the mods have some experience in the subject, like managing an art/comp zine and as page/merch artists in fanzines, additionally some also have experience in terms of brand managing and production of merchandise for artists alley's and online stores.
hi! do the moderators have previous experience running similar projects? what are they?
hello!! as mentioned in another question, even tho this is our first time organizing a zine, most of the mods have some experience in the subject, like managing an art/comp zine and as page/merch artists in fanzines.
hi, I'm curious if the moderators have any previous experience organizing fanzines? Thanks!
hello!! although this is the very first zine our team has created, most of the mods have some experience in the subject, like managing an art/comp zine and as page/merch artists in fanzines.
We have done extensive reseraches prior to the project's launch to make sure we provide the best experience to all supporters/contributors.
since the zine is for profit, how will the contributors be paid? I looked for it and couldn't find an answer
hello! since this is a small project and can't guarantee how many sales we'll have, our finances mod has organized a financial plan that allows us to give a monetary, fair pay to every contributor. Even tho this is our main goal, we've planned an alternative compensation, that will depend on further analyses (interest check, production costs, etc). Our Info Doc will be updated with more details later on.
Hii :D
Dunno if its a silly question or not but, will the magical girls only be from anime or can winx and witch girlies be included?
hello!! it doesn't sound silly at all!! Yes, all magical girls' shows are welcomed in this project. Whatever your favorite magical girl may be, we are happy to give it some love and representation ♡‧₊˚
Hello, I am interested in contributing to the Pretty Witty magical girl zine, however I am 17 and the rules state the zine is 18+
From what is stated I understand this is for compensation reasons, so if my family could take the compensation on my behalf, is it possible I may apply?
hello! Unfortunantely we cannot make any exceptions in regards of the contributor's ages, for it would pose as a legal matter in our country, even if the compensation is sent to a relative in your behalf. We appreciate your interest in participating in this project and hope to still have your support moving foward!
Can magical girl AUs from non-magical girl animes be included?
Hello! this zine will be focused only on Magical girls shows, but we accept magical girl AUs from other franchises as examples for the contributor applications that are currently open (form in our carrd )
hello! i was wondering if there was going to be a list of magical girls to choose from or would contributors be free to choose from any?
hello!! we'll have a list of examples available, but contributors will have the liberty to choose to represent their favorite shows, keeping it regulated of any vast repetitions of the same franchises, as we're looking for a wide variety and will kindly ask that artists have that in mind when writing their pitches
