OMGG if I had to choose from all of the sub-styles it would be kote-kei and tanbi-kei probably?? How do they say you can take me away from trad goths but you can't take a trad goth out of me or smt like that.
One of the many things I love about visual kei is that I'm guaranteed to have a WOAAHH YOU CAN DO THIS???? reaction to any band I look at. I really really like how they mix usual goth scene elements with the different concepts. La'mule, Aliene ma'riage and early dir en grey to illustrate.... I think it's also the default vkei style like it's probably what you picture in your head when someone talks about it...
I LOVE big and exaggerated costumes but what can be better than 17th-19th century inspired exaggerated and big costumes am I right??? Tanbi-kei sweep. I don't know many tanbi-kei bands but any kaya involved band is absolutely amazing, same goes for kamijo + Raphael. Totally in love w them and their aesthetics...
