As a child I would go with my then best friend and his parents to the local forest and pick up wild mushrooms. I can’t say how knowledgeable they in fact were but they weren’t professionals. But they managed to find wild porcini mushrooms and served them to me with Käsespätzle. At least I hope they were porcinis.
