(I'm copy-pasta-ing this from the depths of my DMs I'm sorry this is going to be so long)
Tsurugi (name means sword but can also mean precious)
Suzu (name meaning bell)
- One day a mysterious pokemon attacks Tsurugi’s village, he shoots it in the eye with an arrow and causes it to flee but not before it manages to touch him, cursing him to be able to see and hear the dead and to bring misfortune to whomever he meets.
- The village elders hold a meeting and their soothsayer tells him to travel to Johto and that because he’s cursed he can’t stay with other people for too long so he spends some time wandering from town to town, often being chased out because the curse caused a lot of bad shit to happen.
- Tsurugi meets a priestess named Suzu from Ho Oh’s shrine who adopts him.
- Tsurugi tells her about the curse and asks if there’s a way she can help and she promises to help him.
- Suzu tells him about the rite of descent when Ho Oh visits the tower and warns him that the shrine will soon become very dangerous because bandits will try to attack and occupy the territory but if he stays and meets Ho Oh it may grant him his wish to be free of the curse, if his wish is made with a pure heart.
- The emperor wanted Ho Oh’s head because he heard it would give him immortality. Bandits were hired and a bounty was placed on Ho Oh for anyone who could bring it to him.
- Tsurugi offers to help protect the shrine and tells her he’s an excellent archer. She tests him and then agrees to let him help.
- Suzu and the other shrine attendants train him in swordsmanship.
- During the rite of descent, the shrine is attacked and during the siege many lives were lost on both sides.
- Ho Oh is beheaded. Suzu tells Tsurugi that by fusing with it she can bring it back to life but it will end her own life and she will need him to drive out the bandits to protect Ho Oh after she revives it.
- Tsurugi is reluctant to lose her but she orders him to do it.
- Suzu fuses with Ho Oh and offers to grant him his wish to lift the curse.
- Instead of wishing to lift his own curse, Tsurugi wishes to bring Suzu back, suzu's sword becomes a vessel for her and she becomes the first Johto Aegislash.
- Tsurugi and Suzu (sword suzu) managed to fight back and drive the bandits away, retrieving Ho Oh's head and returning it so it can be fully... back to normal.
- Suzu and Tsurugi make a promise that she will stay and protect Tsurugi's family in return, since she wasn't able to lift his curse but Tsurugi acknowledges that he is not worried about the curse because it enables him to communicate with her still beyond her death and he no longer sees it as a curse (this is why the crossbell family still can see/hear ghosts and the misfortune thing, the curse affects some of them more than others though.)
I may... end up retconning bits...
