Have you ever listened to metal?
Rue enjoys a multitude of music, however, the closest thing to metal she hears is sometimes bards will play at taverns but nothing more modern.
Can you tell us a little bit more about Rue’s world setting, like her kingdom?
Of course! its a huge wip rn but here's roughly the lay of the land:
The sea to the North is treacherous, while the seas to the South, East, and West are usually calm. This content is home to a very large variety of creatures and plants; a huge number of those are found only in this region. To the Northern, the mountains loom over the lands below, home to many mining villages, and are known for the pure water that runs down the sides of the mountains. There are natural hot springs at higher altitudes that have been known to hold magical properties. A mountain chateau was built into the cliffs of the mountains and it's rumored that there are Frozen mazes carved into the mountain, under this chateau.
Most southern lands receive a lot of brief rains, leaving the air humid, and the dew and the shimmer from the rains make surfaces shine with fluttery beauty. The environment allows the growth of a wealth of plants easily along with fruits, and flowers, and makes the cities lush with greenery and color year-round. As many of the southern lands are made up of islands, it is a very lucrative location for sea farriers, trade, and piracy.
The Eastern environment is a thick magical forest of evergreens redwoods and oak maturing to 100ft tall. Native people from this area live in the trees, with intricate catwalks to go between the treehouses. This environment can become more temperate than the rest of the continent in the winter months, save the south. The inhabitants of this forest are known for being elusive and the forest silent. Any who wander in with ill intent do not find their way out. If you listen to the wind among the trees you can hear them whisper. Several creatures and flora in these woods are hostile to outsiders.
The Western Wilds are rolling hills and sprawling grasslands. Unfortunately, these seemingly graceful lands have dangerous sinking swamps camouflaged as shallow valleys among the hills. These lands are home to many skilled farmers due to the open environment to farm and raise livestock. These farmers have keen senses to notice the sinking swamp traps and navigate the land safely. These lands sprawl and roll making it common to more avian-aligned creatures, as their sharp sight allows them to see their prey and avoid the sinking swamps.
The Northwestern continent is where one may find the Crystal academy of the Arcane, shadowed in academic mystery, and to the southwest is the Zairean Territory of blood, darkness, and fire. Occasionally wicked creatures wander out from these lands but are quickly dispatched.
What is a perfect day like for Rue?
The most perfect day, hmm well, It'll start right before dawn. Sleep always comforting yet the crisp chill to the morning air leaves her excited to go out. Of course this would not be a day where she has lessons, or practice. One day after her duties have been completed and her morning starts with complete freedom. Quickly dressing herself much to her ladies in waiting's dismay, they let themselves in, hearing her rummaging around her wardrobe. As she dresses they do her hair swiftly. She would gather her pack and dash out, leaving them to complete their other tasks. Running, on light feet, balancing on her toes she makes her way through the kitchen she would see the staff discussing meals, responsibilities and scans the room. She spies chiefs apprentice, he waves her over, taller than her by about a foot he sighs and hands her a small bundle of bread, jams, and fruit knowing she would be by, as per usual. With that tucked into her pack she would sneakily head out, dipping between bushes, and columns. Diving behind the tall overflowing flower pots decorating the area. She dashes down the path of sand stone, paths that wind and branch out. She takes the familiar path, greenery thick and dotted with hibiscus flowers. She makes her way to the beach, the sun breaching the horizon. Pink, orange, purple, and blue colors fill the sky, and she would take a moment to close her eyes and breathe in the scent of the sea, opening her eyes once more and feeling the warmth of the sun on her cheeks. She would pace the length of the beach as far as she dared. Scanning the grains of sand and stones for unique treasures. She would bend down to pick up anything that caught her eye. A hand full of sea glass jingled in her pouch, a few bones would be picked up and tossed in and any stones she likes would be added to her little horde. after the sun rose high in the sky, she would take a break, sitting down in the soft now warm sand, and bring out the pouch of bread jams and fruits. She would devour them slowly enjoying them. She would occasionally see a glint of silver out of the corner of her eye, knowing that though they think they are sneaky the guards keep an eye on her as is their duty. She is grateful for the space however imagined. As the day on the beach draws closer to evening, she would take inventory of her treasures and go back up to the Villa estate. As she arrived back and the sun began to set, she would be rigorously cleaned up, many hands brushing, wiping, and yanking at her hair and skin as she was prepared for dinner. She would be then dressed and escorted to the dinning hall, open with columns to allow the warm air to breeze through the hall. The King waiting would silently chew his meal, as she exchanged one sided pleasantry's for respect and sat, being served her meal. They would dine quietly and once she was dismissed desert would be brought to her in the sitting area. A large beautiful torch lit room with sheer curtains between the gaps of the columns to give the illusion of a wall, but would sway in the warm evening wind. She would settle on one of the many strewn about pillows, chairs, lounge furniture's, and would read one of the endless books that piled up next to her favorite pillow. the cakes, teas, cookies and other lates of fruits would be brought in for her to indulge and as she would snack, read and relax she would drift off. A knight picking her up would return her to her room and there her day would end.
Is Rue allergic to anything?
Not that she has discovered, but there is so much she hasn't experienced yet there may be something out there that gives her a reaction
What is Rue afraid of?
As odd as it may seem she has a fear of thunder. The loud crash reverberating in her bones shakes her to her core, and she cant hide from it as its brief but keeps her from being able to breathe until it fades. There is always a bit of panic in her whenever the storms that roll off the ocean descend upon the islands.
Does Rue do well in cooler climates?
She will always prefer the warmth, however, once a cooler climate is introduced She will bundle up. layers upon layers but the cold always seems to seep into her bones, keeping her in a bundle of clothes, but shivering none the less. In her rabbit form, her coat pales, and a warm soft puff rapidly grows around her neck, down to her breast. Almost like a scarf. Her wrists, and ankles also have little puffs of soft velvet fur to attempt to keep her warm. She develops a bit of a find undercoat in her rabbit form so she prefers this form if she ever has to travel to cooler places.
What is Rue's favourite dessert?
Her Favorite Desert is Called a Summer Roulade! Its a Velvet Crepe Roulade filled with vanilla ice cream. Topped with Buttercream, Hummingbird mint and fresh strawberries! Generously sprinkled with powdered sugar and edible sugar lotus buds.
