would you guys be willing at all to have a physical zine as a stretch goal? it's okay if not!

Unfortunately, unless we were to hit an astronomically high amount of orders, printing the zine is not sustainable for us. We hope this does not discourage you from checking out our contributors works, as they have put a lot of time, love, and passion into their pieces!

Hi! I'm unsure how characters were assigned to contributors, but are Zenkichi and Sophia guaranteed pieces focused on them? It's a little concerning to see Kasumi, a character not even mentioned in Strikers having more of a role in the zine merch than the characters actually from the game and I'm worried I won't see either of them at all, save for in the background of a piece. I understand this zine allows the inclusion of Royal characters, but it's a little comical to have them overshadow those two.

Hi, great question! We understand your concern, however there are plenty of Zenkichi and Sophia centric pieces, even pieces solely dedicated to them. Many of our contributors were very excited to include Kasumi and Akechi in on the Strikers roadtrip, seeing as they would make a fun new dynamic the original game had.

Why do you have a finance and shipping mod if you're digital?

Apologies for the late response on this!
While our zine is digital, we have full plans for physical merch to be a part of our zine as well! And if, ONLY if, we reach a certain stretch goal, we had possible plans for a limited physical run.

Heyo! My writing has a pretty significant tell that it's mine (specifically, the pronouns I use). Should I change it so all the pronouns are the assumed canonical ones so it's more blind?

If you personally would like to do this for a more blind proceeding, you may, however we will not require you to do so ^^ our only stipulation to this is that if you are chosen as a contributor, we would have to ask you use canonical pronouns for consistency across the zine, we hope you understand! Hi there! Your contributor guidelines state writers have to submit complete work, but also that if it's longer that a shorter snippet is okay. So how would this work?

Thank you for your question! Basically, what we are asking for is this:
We are looking for a polished work that showcases your writing skills to us! If this is in the form of a chaptered fic, or a long one-shot, we ask that you take between a smaller sample between 1k-2k so that our Writing Mod can get through as many portfolios while grading as possible!
Whether your fic is actually completed or not isn't necessarily what we are looking for, but that it is at the presentable form you would publish for others to read! A WIP fic is completely fine to use in your portfolio, as long as you are completely happy with where that snippet you're showing is at :)

Hi there! In terms of writer app submissions, let's say the fic is already posted on AO3. Instead of providing AO3 links in the application, would you want the Google Drive link to that fic's document?

If it is possible for you to do so, yes! That, or something similar to a google drive link!

Im playing through the game currently so I don't have a full idea of what I want to draw. Will this affect my chances?

Pitches or lack thereof will not be held against contributors unless there is a tie breaker needed; as such, you can still be accepted even if you arent sure what you want to draw. However we cannot guarentee you will not come into contact with any spoilers if you are accepted as a contributor, but have not completed the game. Please apply at your own risk!

can contributors pair up?

Artists and Writers will be given the option both on the application form and during the first week everyone joins the discord to pair up with someone. This can be in the form of drawing a full page artwork for a writers piece, spot arts for a written piece, or even two artists pairing up for a spread piece!

Hello! If this zine will be digital, why are you going to have aspiring contributors apply? Why not make the zine free to join?

Hi there! Thanks for your question! To answer simply: interest.
Our numbers for contributors right now are only tentative, and can and will definitely change! If the amount of people who apply to contribute is low enough, we would be more than happy to shift into a free to join! However, if the amount of people interested in joining is as large as interest currently is, there would be no way for our team at it's projected size and experience to handle.
We are also taking into account the possibility of physical merch, which if we go forward with, will absolutely affect how many contributors we can take. We will be taking everything into consideration once interest check fully concludes, as well as when the rest of our moderation team is filled out.
We hope this answers your question ^^

Glad to see some Scramble love <3 just a quick question; why making the zine CMYK if it’s digital only?

Hi there! For now, we are going with CMYK for artists who wish to print and sell their pieces once zine proceedings are up! (As well as for merch artists, if interest for physical merch wins out! It's easier to have everything in the same format :) ) Thank you for your question!
