Hello. I'm putting together a writer application and I'm not sure what you mean with "the same style you intend to use for the zine"? If I have different styles, can't I simply use whichever the mods prefer or think fits the zine better?
Hello nonny! You are welcome to submit multiple styles of writing as long as you are okay with using any of them for the zine. Most people settle on one particular style because it allows them to showcase a broader range within it, but it's up to you how you structure your application! Additionally, pitches will be focused more on the idea than the style in which it's written, mods will not tell you which style from your apps to use. Let us know if you have any other questions! 🩵

Hello! I'm putting together my application for an artist spot, and since I wanted to try for both spot artist and spread artist, can I put together a bigger portfolio with more examples of my art? And link the same file for both positions? It would be an organized Google slide presentation in case that makes a difference lol
Hey Nonny! To be clear, spot art is not a separate role, but rather one that's been combined with the role of page artist. Page artists will be expected to do 1 page illustration + 1 very simple piece of spot art of a completed dish/recipe. If you decide to apply for the role of page & spot artist, we vote primarily based on your page illustration samples, so those should account for the majority of your samples.
If you'd like to apply for both spread artist and page/spot artist, they're separate forms and applications, so you'll be able to provide separate samples for each application to ensure they're well suited. Hope this helps, let us know if you have any other questions! 🩵

hiya, i saw that the dates were extended and i was curious if any applications have been/would be looked at before january 15 — i submitted my application in early december, but if i wanted to revise my portfolio/art submissions, would i be able to? or should i just leave it as is? thanks!

Hi! I was filling out the artist forms but I think you have not linked the "Cover Artist Application" form? Because when I open the link it opens the "Page/Spot Artist Application" form. Is it meant to be so? Or did I fill out the same form twice on accident XD

Hi! I'm just a bit confused on when the applications close for the zine? On your tumblr and twitter, all the posts say December 15th but on your carrd it says January 15th? I just don't want to miss submitting my application if the deadline is Dec 15! Thank you!

Hi! I'm just wondering I'm new to zines and am not familiar with what a spot artist is or what spot illustration might be...could I ask what it is or what they do exactly?
Hey nonny! So, all of our artists will be expected to create both a full illustration and a piece of spot art. Generally speaking, spot art can be any type of small, simple illustration made to accompany a story, recipe, or activity. For this specific case, the spot art will be a small, simple illustration of one of the completed recipes. You can view an example here! 🩵

In terms of applying - when applying to multiple roles (Eg. Merch artist AND food/drink contributor), if the applications are successful, would I have to choose between one or the other?
Hey nonny! If accepted to multiple roles, you would not have to choose between them and could participate in all the ones you were accepted for.
That said, being accepted for one role does not guarantee that you will be accepted for others you apply to. In your results email, it will be made clear which role(s) you've been accepted to 🩵

Hi! This is such a cute zine idea, I love it so much! I wanna ask about what is the acceptable scope for the fics? Should they include canon characters/ships only, or are "x reader" fics allowed?
Hey nonny! We won't be including OC/reader/self-insert fics, but non-canon ships are fine as long as they involve canon characters (and at least one of those characters is Sanji). 🩵
