But regardless, him and I are pretty tight. I’m his adopted brother and despite living on my own now… I guess we still are brothers in a way. Without going into too much detail, I was in a very dark place. I ran away from my abusive owner, everyone I liked who I could turn to were all gone. I was in a hopeless state. That is, until Fido came. He was originally sent to find me and take me back to my owner, but then I told him everything about how abusive my owner was and from there, he did everything he could to get me away from that toxic house. He offered to have his owner take me in and I could stay with him until I got legally emancipated from being a pet.

It was a hard time trying to adjust, I couldn’t move on from the pain I carried with me. With Fido around doing his best to help me, he made that part of my life hurt less. He helped look after me, encouraged me to have fun with other pets, being my own dog, engaging with my interests, sharing such other’s interests, and even taught me how to read and write. Well, I actually had a tutor, but with exercises and assignments, Fido gave pointers and helped improve my English skills. Through all this, we kinda just grew close to each other. We understood each other, we got along well. I couldn’t have asked for any other dog to help me be the dog I am today.
