LONG ANSWER INCOMING, Blue has one and it is literally me wanting to be as cruel as possible to him :))). The idea is that, due to various reasons, Blue goes missing during an operation and is discovered passed out in a cave after being presumed dead. The issue is he SHOULD NOT have survived. Turns out he survived because some unknown plant-like organism began parasitizing his body. Think something like Darkwood combined with that movie The Ruins and those vines that literally got under people's skin. He is taken back to Rhodes and because his current state is so bad, Blue is declared to have died in the cave. Turns out he is still VERY friendly to the medical staff studying him! He has horrible memory issues now and only recognizes the doctor and Mulberry, but regards everyone in Rhodes as his friend. He is almost completely blind in one eye, with roses growing out of the other, making it completely nonfunctional. His right leg is almost completely worthless due to the sheer mass of the roots and vines growing inside it, and he has a BAD hunch since there are tree branches growing out of his back. His nervous system is shot to hell and he seemingly can't feel any pain. Additionally, he isn't really aware of his current state. He acts seemingly like everything is fine. The bright side here is he got REALLY good at using arts, like horrifyingly good. In this state he is Modal caster like beeswax, except using his arts HORRIBLY fucks him up. He is cleared for work as an operator and given the codename "Bloom," and is ONLY used in horribly dire situations. VERY few personnel are even allowed to know he exists, and he is kept around because the plant life taken from his body is used to make very valuable healing supplies. He offered to be kept around SPECIFICALLY because of this because, to quote him, "I just want to help people as best I can, no matter what."

yes! lazuli has an alt thats a mystic caster, that is their self after a series of... questionable self experimentation (out of boredom mind you. you kind of have to keep them constantly stimulated or else they just start using themself as a test subject) that more or less "activated" the dormant genes that were needed for their arts abilities and sarkaz blood to truly manifest
there was some mild angst because, dear god the week prior to things working left them /sick/ and kinda thought they werent going to make it but afterwards is pretty :D bc hey! injecting yourself with chemicals out of boredom IS a good idea, you get horns and sick water arts out of it
