Passion, preference for certain mediums over others. There's plenty of work I could have been doing that would pay better, even with my relatively comfortable position as it stands now, but I'm in this for the love of the game. Don't think I've met a colleague who isn't. That's why it's so easy for companies to fuck us over with low rates to begin with.
