I have carpet, but would like to get rid of it. Too dirty.

I prefer wooden floorboards and a few rugs. Apparently for people with allergies carpets are actually good as they hold dust in them as opposed to wooden floors.

If you fall it hurts less, glasses are less likely to bteak, etc. Cons: stains, harder to clean, wears out, probably less sanitary, maybe smells

Maybe it makes it more cosy, more aesthetic. We don't have many carpets in our home.
