What does Willow do now a day's, as like a Job/hobby? does she still partake in magics, or does she do something more traditional in your setting?
Statistically, how many people do you think you've gotten into inflation through your art?
Generally curious what are some shenanigans you enjoy drawing the most with your characters?
How do you do your backgrounds?? Looking to use some of your stuff as inspiration
Man that's an incredibly broad question, forgive me if I can't go into enough detail!
I always work from the back to the front, starting with the sky and working through distant hills/buildings. I tend to stick to basic blocks of color with gradients for the further stuff, only adding in simple details.
Honestly this tiny text box probably isn't the best place to be give advice. Feel free to show me what you're working on!
You interested in Helldivers at all?
What would you say inspires your aesthetic?
A few things actually! Obviously the techwear fashion I draw pulls from sci fi and cyberpunk, but I try to wind back the more explicitly futuristic elements to make something that feels more near-future. A big reason why my sona's dress sense has gotten more androgynous is because a significant chunk of my ref folder is anime-girl-pinup stuff haha
As for the setting, I guess it's sorta solarpunk? I tend to dislike the takes on that theme that are all glass, chrome and white concrete (I don't wanna live in an iphone store), so a lot of the refs I use focus on bright colors and again have more near-future looking buildings that have been fitted with higher tech stuff. Some real world examples of what I'm shooting for are Jewel Changi Airport and Gardens By The Bay, both in Singapore. The Supertree Grove and Cloud Forest are beautiful!
I've been told my stuff kinda has a y2k look to it so I've been trying to lean into that a little! Stuff like Jet Set Radio and the Designer's Republic have been huge influences lately, especially in the tech. I like stuff that's a little bulkier and looks easier to repair, so personal tech from around then fits the look real well.
I remember you have a very peculiar mobian shark, I think it's name is Flapjack, may I ask what happened to her and if there's a small chance to see it again?
how do ya come up with all the outfits/worldbuilding stuff ya do? it's all rad as hell :3
Honestly there's no great secret to it. It comes down to a lot of browsing through artists' galleries and building up the biggest reference folder I can. I'm one of those people who enjoys categorizing and filing everything correctly based on fashion style, body shape, themes etc haha
As for worldbuilding, don't feel like you need to flesh everything out and write an elaborate history of everything that's happened and why everything's the way it is. Write out some ground rules for the tone and themes that you want it to hit and what can and can't exist without breaking the setting. I keep a google doc with everything I've added so far with details on the tech, climate, locations and infrastructure, and any time I have a new idea I can check it against what I've got so far to see if it fits!
Favorite way to steer a blimp?
How long does it take you to draw a background like the one in your twitter header? They come out really gorgeous n vibrant!!
It's hard to give a precise answer , but for something like that on the more elaborate end of what I do it's probably an evening.
There are a few tricks to cut down on the time by a great deal though! Big blocks of foliage are a basically a cheat code to fill in areas where I don't know what I'm doing. Also, working in simple blocks of color with gradients to fill in further away areas helps create depth and fills in space real fast. No joke, watching Bob Ross episodes are a massive help too.
May I do fanart of the inflatable kitty when available? :3c
Hey I've been following your art for a while now, your art is great!
There has been one question on the back of my mind for a while now though: Is there any reason you stopped drawing outies on inflation/weight gain pics? Are you just not into that as much anymore or is there another reason? Just thought I'd ask.
I remember you posted some 40K models you made a while ago... What do you like more about 40k? The gameplay? Lore? Or most importantly, the model making
Sorry if this may be an uncomfortable question but is there a reason you don't do sonic art anymore? Like with characters who are actually 18+ Also your old sonic ocs as well, why don't you use them anymore?
