What would you say inspires your aesthetic?
A few things actually! Obviously the techwear fashion I draw pulls from sci fi and cyberpunk, but I try to wind back the more explicitly futuristic elements to make something that feels more near-future. A big reason why my sona's dress sense has gotten more androgynous is because a significant chunk of my ref folder is anime-girl-pinup stuff haha
As for the setting, I guess it's sorta solarpunk? I tend to dislike the takes on that theme that are all glass, chrome and white concrete (I don't wanna live in an iphone store), so a lot of the refs I use focus on bright colors and again have more near-future looking buildings that have been fitted with higher tech stuff. Some real world examples of what I'm shooting for are Jewel Changi Airport and Gardens By The Bay, both in Singapore. The Supertree Grove and Cloud Forest are beautiful!
I've been told my stuff kinda has a y2k look to it so I've been trying to lean into that a little! Stuff like Jet Set Radio and the Designer's Republic have been huge influences lately, especially in the tech. I like stuff that's a little bulkier and looks easier to repair, so personal tech from around then fits the look real well.
