Just wanna thank you for taking the time to explain your view about that top/bottom discourse( I was reading the whole thing). It takes a lot of intelligence, maturity and empathy to explain your side patiently when most people just wanna fling petty insults at each other. You never know when you can change someone's mind, which is exactly what you did!
retroneptu | nothing to thank me for! if my words helped them realize what was wrong, then i am glad. i gotta say i've also "fought" about top/bottom stuff in the past, which is indeed petty, and i learned that those kind of discussions don't really matter-- if some people like to see their fave characters fixed, switching, or whatever, we should all respect each others likings. doesn't mean we have to be comfortable around everything, but just respect, and know our own limits. it's just a preference on dynamics that relies only on each individual fan :)

i reflected. and im sorry and thankful for letting me realize that. I didn't know that i had internalized misogyny when i had always hated people who're misogynistic and homophobic. im sorry and very thankful that u actually took the time to write that all out for me to realize. I'm very sorry
thanks to you for letting me explain it how I see it, and for actually reflecting on it! we all have some parts of internalized misogyny, homophobia, or any other prejudices against minorities because we are born in an awful system and sometimes it's hard to notice our own mistakes, but it's a great step to say sorry and try to think about it from another perspective <3

ok im that one anon from last time who asked why zhongli was the bottom, and rlly set me straight from how i see this ship and im sorry but literally where did u guys even pull that I'm misogynistic bs from?? when we're literally talking about two men, literally no woman in what we're talking about. I've literally been called a misandryst n proud of it even tho i would actually get shit if i admitted it
I'll explain it to you, don't think i'm attacking you or anything, just telling you why people and i myself correlate misogyny with homophobia as well. You implied that zhongli is a god therefore stronger than childe, therefore it would fit him more to be a top. People with internalized homophobia see bottoms as the weak side, as the "femenine" side (typical question 'which one is the woman in the relationship?') because they receive in the sexual position, like a woman in a typical heterosexual relationship. Being a bottom is seen as being like a woman, thus making it seem that they are weaker than their partner who is also a man just like them. Woman are weaker than men in the patriarchy system, the more caring, nurturing, cute side, while men are portrayed as the stronger, prideful, harder to break side. Whether it is conscious or unconsciously, it is both misogynistic and homophobic, because again they are setting stereotypes of hetero relationships over homosexual relationships. Being a botton in a mlm relationship has nothing to do with a woman, of course, and yet being a bottom has nothing to do with self strenght either.
To answer your question as to why zhongli is a bottom-- simply, why not? Why couldn't he? What is the reason to not be one? Absolutely none. If you like to see him like that, good. If you don't, then good too. There are no reasons for being a bottom or a top in fiction, these are solely based on the fans preferences/desires/likes. That's all there is.
I hope that answers your doubts a bit more clearly.
Also... not sure what you meant with your last sentence, I'm hoping you just didn't say you are actually misandrous and that you're proud of it?
