Do you have a preference as a writer for either posting a story as a threadfic or on AO3? Also, same question as a reader, would you prefere one over the other?
As a writer, I treat threadfics like an exercise or a warmup. A quick way to get my brainrot out without having it to be really polished, and if I like the idea then I may use it for a longer fic later on. It's also something I can use to get into the writing mood, so threadfics do have merits in that regards. :>
As a reader, I read threadfics when I want a quick read (for example during my commute) or if it looks cute/entertaining. I am also not as critical of threadfics because usually they're not meant to be perfectly polished. Ao3 fics is for the more interesting or intricate plots to me, where it can really deep dive into the story, so in the end it makes for a more satisfying read. :'D
