THIS IS SO HARD THERE’S SO MANY I LIKE!!! I’ve only read up to central rhapsody so far, for reference.

5.) west rhapsody - this is partially due to recency bias, but man… something about this event just hits hard. they weren’t lying the yearning in this event is Real. the way shylock talks about tubal and how much you can see he genuinely loved him got me all in my feels. I also like the parallel between tubal being obsessed with the sea and murr obsessed with the moon, #1 yearner shylock bennett has a type when it comes to his lesbian situationships. the ending where shylock throws his mana stone back into the sea along with his favorite cocktail made me tear up a little bit, the bittersweet, melancholic feeling left me thinking for hours. definitely my favorite west event yet. I also love it because we get to learn more about the western military and magical science tools; I, too, yearn but for world building lore like this.

4.) north etude - the bias is real. I’ve always loved bradley, but this event made me fall head over heels for him. his character development here is SO good, like him actually taking shylock and murr’s advice and using it to his advantage to adapt and change as a person. we love to see it. and it ultimately improving his relationship with nero ever so slightly? beautiful. there’s so many good things here it’s hard to pick a favorite moment. one is when he says he has no “fated connections” and just “acquaintances” but while talking with snowhi asks them to overlook his old comrades— okay lying ass. another is when he clocks owen saying he couldn’t kill cain after owen tries to taunt him. cain fumbling owen. that bandit calling owen a twink and him not denying it. bradley’s ssr. the end where he goes to drink with nero and akira. so many iconic moments I can’t even begin to name all of them. I hope someone translated the revised version since I heard it added more lore about the bandits of death.

3.) north festival - another extremely biased moment… I like this one more solely because I love sanbaka’s stupid ass shenanigans. It’s always 3 dumb bitches telling each other exactlyyy. my absolute favorite part is when akira is pretending to be asleep listening to sanbaka explain their plan to seal oz and owen runs a finger nail down akira’s face while being so close their faces are almost touching 🤤. some other parts I like are when bradley kidnaps akira and mithra vs owen’s fight, especially when owen vomits the bird sludge all over mithra. I really wish we got to see them playing cards together one of the first instances of sanbaka bonding time. :,) this would be the perfect event if it weren’t for the fact the ending feels rushed imo.

2.) central ballad - I was not at all prepared for this event. but this is how I feel with every central event like it’s so nice at the start then it hits you like a gut punch. the wave of emotions I felt learning about oz’s grief and what he did to arthur’s room to arthur confronting him and oz feeling fear for the first time to murr pushijg him too far and almost getting obliterated… my jaw was on the floor. the anxiety I felt. no other event has made me feel quite the way this one did. this was one of the best looks we’ve gotten into what happens when a wizard turns to stone. to think murr could still move ever so slightly and see and feel despite almost being a literal pile of stones… good fucking god. that was my favorite part, of course. I also really liked the introduction of arthur’s childhood friend. arthur and his gay little boyfriend toto… so cute.

1.) east festival - god. God. the fucking mahoyaku event of all time. central ballad is the only event that has come close to making me feel what east festival has but even then… no event has made me feel fear like this one. anxiety? yes. but none of them have ever made me scared like this one. the premise is one of my favorite yet. a town that worships a dead wizard that they believe is the great calamity and killing other wizards as sacrifice then putting their brooms in the ground like a graveyard? actually peak horror. the buildup to the reveal and then them all fighting the remora is like actual perfection, it’s so intense and thrilling it had me on the edge of my seat. the kizu heath moment is my favorite; like i know they wouldn’t die, but this is one of the few moments where it felt so real like they were actually both about to seriously die. I wish we got to see more of kizu heath because his affliction is my favorite. love owen coming in to save them of course and shino locking it in to save heath too. unsurprisingly i like the moment at the beginning too with bradnero where bradley gets all buddybuddy with him then nero pulls out the pepper. all of the east events are so good but this still remains my favorite. the east/north combo is my fave ever.
