Not sure how to exactly phrase this question but first off I wanted to say haiii you’ve been a huge artistic inspiration to me for years and I hope you’re doing well ^^ I’m also in the medical sphere of the world while doing art on the side (premed college student and I work as an EMT) and I always was curious how you managed to juggle both your artistic and career responsibilities especially as someone who still takes art semi seriously. Sometimes it all gets a little overwhelming and I don’t have any personal art industry connections and it feels a bit aimless overall but I thought I’d ask if you had any advice in terms of that in particular.. hope u have a wonderful day :)))

Hiiiii okay so I’m really appreciative that you reached out to me even anonymously and that makes me so happy. Shit is so rough for us #renaissance ppl

So long story short I kind of abandoned that line of work due to time constraints and a lot of traumatic fucked up things happening, but kept a few contacts in the process. I am working on a graphic novel YA for a writer-friend-boss who I kept in contact with and has publishers interested in our work. But we only meet like every 3 weeks haha, our progress is quite slow bc we don’t have a contract yet. But we still have discipline !

Starting local is great, i know a lot of artists get their footing outside of social media by building portfolios and then showing small bands their skills and doing art in exchange. Also if you want to venture into diff mediums for a local application, wheatpasting, graffiti, and murals are a fun way to go ….

Another thing is that you have to be soooo militant with your time. I really struggle with this harddddd. But reminding yourself that being regimented can make you a better artist and prevent burnout is something that I’m grateful for working towards

The world is really small so starting local can be great to branch out into bigger things. The old account that I abandoned started with me posting fire emblem fanart and then eventually snowballed into making industry connections !

I’m rooting for you 🍀
