if it’s okay to chime in i get what that anon is saying but it’s important to remember fic is separate from the actual ships and the members and their interactions. i’ve read plenty of fic that take sly shots at big ships like mahae and nomin for example or still paint nahyuck as frenemies or even constantly fighting and disliking each other. yes it’s annoying but it doesn’t impact the general consensus on those ships or the ship themselves since that seems like what anon was so worried about. people write the members as serial killers and superheroes! none of this is real. and while yes it’d be nice if people didn’t take shots at dynamics they don’t like fanfic is just wishfullfilment and has very little to no impact on what people will ship. yes even the negative wishes people have. i’ve read fanfic where jaemin is jealous of mark and the next day jaemin is trying to tongue kiss mark during practice irl. most fic is occ because it’s all characters based on real people or just slicing away certain parts of a dynamic to fit their fantasy. it’s why most ships don’t have a consistent “characterization”. people are projecting and yes that includes for the overall group dynamic as well. if you can tell someone has a narrative they need to fulfill out of pettiness or jealousy that says enough about them to just not get hot about it. it and they don’t matter. all fic is fake! that’s okay! even when it’s annoying!

everyone is just bashing dream together like ken dolls and yeah some people get insecure and petty but it has no real outside bearing on the ships people want to ship or obviously how the members interact or the overall view on them. these sorts of things are just a natural byproduct of the weird psychology and projection shipping has on all of us and it’s important to notice that it happens to most members and ships. yes yaoi can make people weirdly insecure but it’s most important to protect your peace over something as self indulgent as real people slash!
