Okay, but now I have to know about Teo & Triple Triad👁️👁️
omg hi marrrow your icon is going to make me cry.
okay so i don't think teo has a lot of time for triple triad and currently isn't very aware of it but if it were on his radar i think he'd completely lose himself in it because it's a strategic and fun game, and he'd like the really absurd rules like same/plus (all of the math stuff i myself cannot do). winning an entire board through plus/same combos would be pure adrenaline for him
it's a fun form of competition, right. it's like. if yu-gi-oh existed in eorzea he'd be obsessed with collecting all of them for the purpose of building decks that are theoretically weak but aren't when utilized well or put together in a certain way... the strategizing of making something work that shouldn't, etc. and i think he'd get a kick out of winning with the triple triad equivalent of little kuriboh
what kinds of things does teo like to tinker with when he has the time to? does he have any long-term projects or is it more a collection of little things that spark his attention as they do?
kam i love this question... i've thought about this on and off without ever writing anything down (knife roomba that chases z's ankles was a joke but he would. he would), but i think he'd for the most part make things that ultimately serve literally no purpose or are just practical things that aren't necessarily needed (i'm thinking of that robot that's supposed to feed you soup and just fails miserably).
he grew up recreating models of warmachina and learning about their functions thru his father's position working in the enceladeum, and that idea of a machine's purpose being dependent on its creators intent stuck w him (some robots are meant to kill). as a result i think he'd find the most joy in machines that aren't programmed to do things that are technically useful. here's my magitek bit that is actually just like a flying purse, it holds things for me. i could do this myself but it can, too. here's my robot that opens and closes the drapes when i give it a command. this is an unnecessary task for a robot to do.
i've gotten a bit out of hand answering this but i guess the short of it is, his projects would always be small, pointless, and just "for fun". if things were different i think he'd have longer term projects that have more purpose - like as a scion rather than the WoL, i imagined him joining up w cid and the ironworks w/ an ultimate goal of bringing garlean tech to eorzea (infrastructure & robotics meant to be helpful to people would be His Deal) - but as WoL he doesn't have a lot of time to begin with, and there's just some kind of escapism and pleasant comfort to be found in making something that "means" nothing
Does teo have any tattoos?
he actually did have one before but i haven't drawn it in a long time because i've been contemplating its existence; he used to have a wraparound thigh tattoo that essentially said something along the lines of we stand together/we die together. but i'd have to really think now about whether or not he'd get one and what it would say if he did; i think tattoos would be a tributary thing for him if he got them, but i'm also not certain he'd think to do it himself 🤔
Wherr is Teo (and Zenos') favorite fishing spot? Ocean or freshwater?
teo really enjoys deep-water ocean fishing, so he'd really find peace in being out in the middle of the water where you can't see any land, or where the land is very far away, and he's just distant from everything. conversely though, he'd also like a situation like the ocean-fishing in game, where he's on a communal boat and can share that experience w/ people - it just depends on the if's and but's
zenos i think would also enjoy the quiet open spaces like teo, but i love imagining him also finding some sport in spots that are typically really challenging to fish in, or just very stubborn fish (unsurprisingly). murky lakes you have to wade halfway into to get any leverage, or spear-fishing in a dark trench. anywhere teo chooses is good but those would be the best
looking at the question lupis asked: how disorienting is it for teo to have a garlaen eye but missing an eye? what's his vision like? :eyes:
THIS IS SO UNFORTUNATE TO CONSIDER GAKLDGHKL;AHSDGKL;H oh my god... teo is literally like %. okay but in all seriousness it's probably messed up his depth perception in a really weird way, like if he's perceiving light differently w/ his third eye, i can imagine him seeing like. ghost shapes? like having a phantom limb but instead of a limb it's one side of your face. like a percussive rebound of what his eye should be seeing and what his third eye is perceiving for it. not enough to be useful but maybe enough to have better spacial awareness than if he'd lost that eye w/out a third eye
this isn't an OC question but how do you personally HC the garlean third eye working?
okay so i haven't given this as much thought as i'd like to admit... i've always imagined it as having a similar texture to keratin (sorry) or teeth (extra sorry) though i've also considered the chillingly unfortunate reality it could have the same gummy texture as an actual eyeball (extra, extra, deeply sorry). but, on a "haven't developed this thought much" level i considered it either being similar to a parietal eye (and whatever that would entail...) or functionally perceiving light in a way that would give garleans a natural advantage in their environment where they've lost an advantage wrt not being able to channel aether normally. i'd like to think about it more because it's interesting to me.............
i love this question but what's Teo's favorite meal/drink? how about Zenos (yes he's yours now)? are either of them picky or is food just a means to an end?
1) i love you???? 2) teo likes sour food, his favorite meal is beef and biscuit stew. he's really partial to stuff that's hearty, filling & comforting, and would be really disinterested in food that's specifically designed to be fancy (especially if the portions are small). he's not picky at all, but i think spicy food would literally kill him. sharp food though? bitter? he loves that stuff.
3) i feel like as with all things zenos wouldn't get a lot of pleasure out of food, so it would be a means to an end, but he's also been Raised on Specific Foods so i think he'd still be put off by things that don't mesh with the palate he's accustomed to. like you don't get raised as a prince, regardless of how poorly that went for you, and be perfectly accepting of a plate of macaroni and hotdogs for example (which i now want...). i feel like in the end it doesn't really matter (dot mp3) but he'd have a preference for richer foods, things that are just inherently more flavorful, & more complex. i also love the idea of this being turned into a challenge for him too re: things that are "difficult" to eat, ex. very spicy things or very alarming things (this is the man that would eat a scorpion, i am so sure of that). tl;dr a means to an end but with the addendum he'd still have certain tastes and aim for it to be interesting (i insist that steak and potatoes from In from the Cold had like a bearnaise sauce or something).
is teo having a good day :)
