The Merryville Country Club is a long-running establishment that's the premiere site for the upper echelons of Merryville's population! It's got a golf course, a tennis court, a restaurant, rentable room and board, access to an all-you-can-eat buffet, all hilariously overpriced! Icey and Rei don't get to enjoy any of the benefits of being members of the club, though. They're just employees of the place.

The Black Tabby, meanwhile, is a small coffee and bake shop located deeper within the urban center of Merryville. It's a nice, quiet place where you can go for some quiet contemplation over a nice cup of coffee. Or somewhere for freelancers and hipsters to work, with the free public wi-fi on offer. The coffee is roasted and blended in-house, and the pastries they make are quite tasty.

hmm... ive never actually thought about this, but this is a very interesting question! that being said, i imagine it not being too uncommon? obviously the extreme end of city sized blobs (or even just building sized) and above is very rare and it's a spectacle to see such a thing, but there's a decently sized subculture of blobs who kinda treat it like any other mobility impairment. they've got some mobility aids but its rare for modern day architecture to accommodate all their needs. so they often have to stay in one place or a few specific places that can actually host them

as for my character's thoughts on the matter? most of them wouldn't have any problem with it, at least conceptually! most of the issues come from finding jobs that can be done from home, considering they aren't gonna be moving much when they actually blob out. lena would probably have the least issues since freelancing is her main gig. the rest would probably have to start finding new jobs and new ways of engaging with their hobbies when mobility becomes a bigger and bigger (heh) issue.

of course, when you get big enough, you just kinda start becoming... a major center of attention. people might start literally paying you just to get bigger. think of it like how people say some celebrities are famous just for their looks. its like that but for real. khaal is an outlier since she's a goddess. she doesn't really need an income and can quite literally control her body weight. as such she often freely blobs out in her own residence for personal comfort.

well... for icey, being a gluttony spawn means several things. obviously, aside from eating a lot more than an average person, since she's got a direct connection to the elder gods, it also means she's psychically hypersensitive. this makes her really good at manipulating psychic phenomena (basically just magic and the supernatural) but it also makes her very sensitive to that sort of stuff too. as for what that means...

while she'll sometimes mess around with the occult she's more preoccupied with honing her psychic powers. turning water into ice and freezing the water that's already in the air. also psychically summoning electricity out of thin air. she's charged a couple batteries this way! (and... exploded many more but don't worry about that)
