🐶 acts very immature. He's always bothering 🥟 with things that he knows will make him angry but it's 🥟 who everyone ends up calling immature. I wish they could go back to being friends like when they were kids. But I've already read ISYA and well...
It might seem that way but I think the relationship between them is a little more complicated than that. Let me try to explain here (SM is actually one of my favorite pack members to write).
The characters in the pack are meant to be a little more complex. Just like in real life, people grow up and grow apart and sometimes find themselves back together. That's sort of the case between SM and HJ.
For me, SM's character is just sarcastic and doesn't hold back. He has no filter. HJ even mentions that SM was like that when theyvwere friends, too; its just his personality (I am very much the same in my offline life).The first time their wolves fought, SM antagonize hin bc he knew CN wasn't going to and HJ needed that extra push to finally shift. So that was actually in HJs best interest. Other than that, yeah he tends to start things but I think partly it's bc HJ always gives him the reaction, too. And both CN, CB, and MH have called SM out but HJ is the one who turns an altercation into something physical. He's wild and unpredictable where SM never intends for it to get to that point.
HJ and SM did sort of have their talk in IOHY after HJs first shift where SM explains that and they have a bit of an understanding. In the moat recent update, they get in a fight because HJ gets embarrassed about getting teased. A sore spot for SM is MH. SM's closest friend is 100% MH, someone he trusted to be intimate with for the first time. So HJ bringing that up when SM didn't know that HJ knew was a bit of a shock. Did he overreact? Maybe, but HJ could've just owned up to being involved with MH and that could have been it
In ISYA, SM and HJ fight side by side to protect JS and FX against vampires and HJ actually lashes out after one of them hurts SM and SM saves HJ from being k!lled. Also, there are scenes where while watching a movie, HJ has his head resting on SM's thigh so I think it's safe to say they settle their differences.
Hope that explained things a bit. I love all my pack members in the Yllw Wd verse and, for me, their individual personalities and flaws or quirks make for interesting conflicts, resolutions, story progressions. It's all love between, eventually, the 8 of them though so don't worry 💚
