my understanding of "meta" is just like, guiding characterization notes? sorry if i'm not using the term properly... my instinct is to insert "i think" or "i feel" or similar buffers multiple times in each sentence, so i... will try to resist that urge, for readability. ofc, opinions are just that, and are directed towards how i see characters for the purpose of fic-writing rather than as actual people, etc. etc.

jun - tbh my jun voice is probably my most "organic," and that has to do with how i see him as a character - someone who is thoughtful about many things, in many ways, but who sometimes does the opposite of overthink when it comes to his brain-to-mouth pipeline. he tends to overestimate (or disregard) how much people can understand his intentions or what's going on inside his head, which leads to the non-sequiturs or quips that don't always suit the mood of the situation in fic. on the other hand, i think jun actually can be very attentive and observant about people, maybe a slower processor though, and his strength/way of helping people who need it is sometimes being silent, letting himself be babied, or maybe even made a bit uncomfortable. another thing about jun is that there's so much content of his that reveals literally nothing about him... so i see him as a private person, good at deflecting; not necessarily repressed/unexplored (though... idk i have thoughts abt child acting and stuff) but possibly that he doesn't want to offend or take up people's attention/is ok with being a blank slate of sorts rather than deal with incongruities, at least w people who don't know him well. otherwise, per minghao, he can be quite blunt actually. it's always important to me to write jun as having his own ambitions and desires and ideals rather than as a passive character, but i think he prefers first to express/explore these internally and then to do more showing than telling, which may or may not work in his favor in the ent. industry.
xmh - sentimental. ambitious. not a T type (sorry i still don't really understand mbti) but still needs to work through things with an adherence to emotional reasoning and ideals that borders on logic. at the same time, i see him as quite flighty, someone who makes a decision that feels very firm in the moment but can suddenly change course if he can find an internal justification that works. my friends and i have this saying - strong beliefs, loosely held - that i map onto xmh, though idk if gose debate night or whatever really backs me up... also cares a lot about how he is perceived, and above all about how he perceives himself - so he works towards his ideals by way of an image of someone who embodies them. none of this is malicious, maybe pretentious or ego-building at worst. he's also a mommy's boy ;-; and well-mannered... idk if there's a chn version of mother's friend's son but i think he can have those vibes.
jun8 - I WILL BE BRIEF: have gone through a number of love-hate cycles, resent how much they need/know each other on some level bc they both believe they deserve better (in terms of compatibility) but also find necessary comfort in e/o esp in more fraught situations, mutual envy and admiration but probably not in a way where they would converge and become more like each other, both romantic/idealist, neither super loyal or consistent. (deep sigh)

this is mostly a theoretical answer, bc my toxic trait is that when it comes to reading fic i will read almost anything if i trust the author, and almost nothing if i don't, regardless of what the tags/summary say. also, what i read overwhelmingly tends towards canon or modern setting AU >< i also like AUs that work as a metaphor for idolverse wrt high-stakes group dynamics, but that's kind of cheating.

outside of ^, i would enjoy urban/low fantasy and magical realism, also certain sci-fi settings like space exploration, dystopia... lately i've been interested in ghost stories, esp in a brönte "haunt me then," what is grief but love persevering, etc. kind of way. i like a lot of the typical idolverse tropes, like found family, reckoning with shared history (childhood friends to x), codependency... heh. also ambiguous relationships... and break-ups, or aftermaths - of loss, triumph, change, etc. ofc, i'm always down to read a nice mutual pining/getting together story. if only i read or wrote fic to feel "happy".... x)

but the reason i ask other people is cuz i need to steal their knowledge!!
my main goals w skincare are reducing pores + fading old acne spots + hydration, so most ingredients target those issues. my skin isn't super sensitive but too much hyaluronic acid and products that are specifically marketed as chemical exfoliants tend to break me, out so i avoid those and use hydroxy acids if i need to slough off my cells. in general, i mostly break out from hormones/stress so it's pretty occasional, but i don't really do much to pimples except slap a sticker on them (the klog soft shield > cosrx) and wait for them to run their course (spot treatment recs are appreciated...).
night routine (pipe symbol means i only use one and it just depends on my mood or how my skin feels):
double cleanse - hanskin pha pore cleansing oil + la roche posay toleriane hydrating gentle cleanser (the price per oz of this is really unbeatable)
toner - klairs supple preparation unscented | some by mi 30 days miracle toner (hi scoups)
serum - naturium niacinamide plus zinc serum (works well for pore reduction) | benton snail bee ultimate serum (bought on a whim cuz i wanted to try snail product and it's actually really good for reducing redness and making my skin look even, even when i have pimples) | klairs freshly juiced vitamin c drop (super recommend for brightening! instant effects! unfort i only use it at night bc i'm afraid of sun activation, so my skin really looks the best right after i wake up and no one's around to see it. i use this once a week but would consider upping to 2-3. it does have a "clean" smell that is noticeable and lingering but not unpleasant)
moisturizer - la roche posay toleriane double repair for night | the plant base ac cica cream for day (i'm pretty meh on this and only bought it bc i don't want to shell out $$ for moisturizer, will prob just stick w lrp when it's done)
eye cream - hanskin collagen peptide eye cream (the only eye cream i can justify buying for price per oz, can't tell how effective it is tbh but i tend to think of eye care/collagen as a long-term preventative measure rather than addressing a current need)

in the morning i only use moisturizer + sunscreen - i like supergoop but $$;; i recently got my hands on the trader joe's dupe and it is very solid but not as good as a base for makeup so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

also i very recently got a gua sha and roller set ^^ i don't see oriental med doctors but i suspect that i struggle w stagnant qi bc my body holds a lot of tension, so i'm curious if this will help

ah, well i'm junhaoist4life - because they were the first svts i knew or cared about, because my INTRODUCTION to them was the insanity of cyzj, because diasporafeels and heightened circumstances of forced proximity and shared history and dependency... because to me they can never be endgame and they're too different and hard to love, but they also can't escape each other and maybe will never find another person they can be so comfortable with/develop as much hard-earned knowledge of and forgiveness for as they have w each other... to me it's the most realistic type of love, where you want and need a lot from another person who inevitably fails you, but you can choose to stay and accept all the ways that they can't be what you need bc the relationship has become about so much more than that.

verhao - it may not be super obvious that i like this pairing based on my fic consumption/production, but that's bc i mostly appreciate what they are irl and don't have particular desires for anything else... to me it's about the mutual admiration since their trainee days, role-reversal of vernon taking care of minghao at times and being kind of audacious/cheeky to push minghao's boundaries in a good way, and later on xmh leaning into a rare hyung position as a 97z that i think is fun (if you don't feed vernon he'll just eat bread and jam! TT)

boohui - this isn't a pairing that incites really intense feelings in me per se, but i think enamored seungkwan is such a sweet thing to witness and wen "don't love me" junhui makes it even funnier and makes you really wonder what it is about jun that seungkwan likes so much, if it's the traits that seungkwan doesn't have access to or something else. in general, i like pairings where at least one person is constantly being disarmed by the other (often bc of contrasts, or aspirations/expectations), and a lot of jun pairings can fulfill that but i like boohui especially bc of my january cap, earth moon friend seungkwan... and it goes both ways! in my soulmates au, i hinted at how they could kind of hate each other under different circumstances, so for them to be so fond now even with potential/real friction is also smthg that i appreciate. fwiw, boohui beat out seokhan for third place bc this answer is already too lengthy for me to get into yjh dynamics.

hmm i think i wrote one or two fics when i was in middle/high school for teen titans, haha, but besides that i never wrote fiction until i started getting into kpop rpf in the past few years. i've been writing poetry since i was young and have some works published, but it really never occurred to me to transition to fiction even though reading is such a great joy of mine - probably because i didn't have any particular stories in mind that didn't feel derivative or self-indulgent? not that fiction can't be those things, just that i was holding myself to a made-up and somewhat meaningless "higher" standard, as i often do... regardless, those concerns are kind of mitigated by the circumstances of kpop rpf imo so maybe that's why i was more willing to try it after reading a lot of good fic and entrenching myself in content until i'd developed very serious brainworms that needed to be excised. i don't work on "original" fiction regularly, but i do think the more abstract/thematic explorations that i've been able to do w rpf have led me to be more interested in doing the same outside of rpf context - but don't hold me to it haha
