While it is good that you are saying that now but I think you should have been upfront about wanting to create the zine physical for your own personal use from the start before applications opened. Not everyone will want to have their work printed out. It also feels a bit unfair for the head mod only to get a copy of the physical zine while everyone else doesn't. I'm not saying that the zine should turn around to be a physical option or anything either as that is not a good strategy to change your zine that drastically. Just that not everyone will agree to that decision and this should have been stated from the start of the zine.
We understand that, and apologize for the lack of transparency! While this information was established on our info doc, it is now stated on Carrd as well, and addressed in more detail on our social media.
For clarification, the head mod is printing the zine for an assignment, on which only her work will be graded. As stated before, we understand contributors may be uncomfortable with this, and we are absolutely open to having their work removed from printing, but still included in the official, digital zine release. This print is not for compensation purposes, as yes, this is not feasible for the project and its team, however, contributors are also fully welcome to print their own personal copies.
Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention, and again, our apologies, but we hope this clears things up a little!
