ah okay đź‘Ť
imo situation is just less extreme than fuuta's so people don't really treat it as cautionary tail. well, the whole today's discourse is just....bored kids jabbing on kid (for liking a sfw nonship drawing of artist that They Don't Like) which is like weird child play from the side honestly. i wouldn't say fuuta's journey with such was truly sincerely started tho (but it's just my vision on the character). anyway, thanks for answering!
Well, even in Bring It On we see how the first battle is just some ice cream freezer guy. You can see where the concerns are but it is pretty silly.
I'm just not a fan of this type of behaviour at all because, even if it doesn't end up to the extreme of Fuuta's sin, people still get scared and people still get hurt. The biggest Milgram fanartist (Oru, in case anyone wants to look more into that) was run off of the platform because they were a Fuuta multishipper (including the fandom unacceptable ones) + people kept throwing accusations at them shipping 0308 over misunderstandings. Even recently, I still see people justify that treatment of the artist with "well, they were a weirdo".
I believe that the quick attack on the original person and the following eww yucky 0703 tweets, while childish, sets up a dangerous environment. There is an extremely hated Other that becomes encouraged to purge and publicly shame. This leads to a lot of knee-jerk reactions and wild accusations to stoke the flames. If we wanted to tie this back to Fuuta's story, I'm sure there's some connections between Fuuta's desire for community, the defining of the Other, and catharsis under the guise of social justice.
Uhhh I kinda went a bit more into things than expected but thank you so much for responding 🙇 I hope this follow-up answer kinda shows why I still see this as something serious and worthy of comparing to Fuuta's case, even if it ultimately is kids being stupid online. Thanks :)
