i celebrate all the big holidays and i grew up in a slightly observant household, we kept kosher in the house and went to shul every weekend and i did the whole hebrew school bat mitzvah thing… as an adult i am definitely one of those people who still strongly identifies as jewish but who does absolutely nothing observant outside of the holidays lmao i think that is very common for people in my general peer group and generation, judaism is more than a religion and its cultural role in my life is far more important to me than any beliefs or specific practices. i don’t believe in god but that doesn’t make me any less jewish, i was born jewish and raised jewish and so i'm jewish no matter what… i think if i had kids i might have to find a synagogue and get a bit more legit about it so that i could raise them w a similar connection to judaism but seeing as i dont have kids i haven’t really grappled with that issue yet lmao
