This is headcanon lowkey backed by canon but: Torao'll form a connection with haruka before he does anyone even the rest of zool in any setting. Touma and Minami impact Torao in their ways but Haruka? He'd be the only one Torao'd be the one to approach and strike something with. He easily catches Torao's attention and puts his self-that torao constantly overlooks- in a chokehold. Something about the way Haruka's an ideal that's ultimately within his grasp and willing to wait for him and take him by the hand sets him really apart. I know some people think ryuu's who torao looks up most to, but it's not true. Haruka's. For various reasons it is but most i can think of off the top of my head is unlike ryuu who takes this role of an angel who have never done anything wrong. Haruka's reachable, he is flawed and he is human yet he's so much more self-assured and true to himself. Torao prefers the rather because he's inherently a cynical- however far you bend his character he just doesn't roll with too much perfection. Unrelated but i also think Torao's himself most with Haruka and Haruka helps him most and easiest he's like the ultimate comfort to Torao but Torao knows he isn't that to Haruka. This gap could be set up for some nice torao being envious he isnt Haruka's "one" as much and as perfectly Haruka's "his"
