I know Umi questions are difficult to answer right now, but I was wondering if there was a point in the story that really hooked you. Higurashi is one of my all time favorite pieces of media, but upon reading the manga version for Umineko's first arc, I found that I wasn't invested at all and didn't want to continue, despite knowing how impactful Ryukishi's writing and characters can be. What might you say to encourage someone to read Umineko? Love all your incredible work and can't wait for whatever you share next ❤️

My WTC journey was I watched the Higu anime and it became an instant fave, then watched the Umi anime as it aired but could tell it wasn't a great adaptation which made me look into the VN, I read it and loved it and then went back and read the Higu VN! I think I found the premise intriguing and was gripped right from Episode 1 to be honest but it isn't for everyone and I'm inclined to say it's probably harder to get into the further it goes, the content gets denser and denser. I think it's a lot more "work" to read than Higu in many ways but would encourage it if at all possible as I think it's brilliant in its own unique ways and also really interesting as WTC3+4 -- it very much does expand and comment on the discussions Ryukishi begins with Higu. At the end of the day it's too long to force yourself through if you're not enjoying it and it may never click for you but none of my fave charas are even properly introduced in the first few arcs, my fave episodes are the last two and there's also the amazing OST which gets added to with each episode. I did take a few years to read it if that helps, I dipped in and out
