oh omg its totally fine bc i felt the same way looking back at my older binneul fics recently 🥹🥹🥹 i was struggling sooo much at the beginning bc it was my first time writing a fic in 3 years and i was very rusty and needed a few months to find my groove again, i only felt like i was writing at full capacity when i started working on the maid fic and i remember how good it was to finally be in that headspace again. i really appreciate everyone who had been following me and encouraging me all the way back then 🥺

i agree abt lapslock. i exclusively type in lowercase but i don’t really like reading lapslock in fic. i think maybe bc it’s like reading a book … i wouldn’t read a book in lapslock!
yeah multiple people expressed it to me back then and i was very surprised it was an issue bc it was a really common style in my previous fandoms! ive posted more than 20 fics to ao3 before this and jebi is the first fandom where i received feedback on it...... but ofc i was more than happy to adjust and accommodate so that my writing can be more accessible to everyone 🥹

I was thinking about another plot! just maybe, I don't know if you have wathced shugo chara? but got reminded of nadeshiko, that for family things had to live as a girl up until a certain age, I was wondering of neul having that same issue and then finally be able to be himself... but bin refusing to stop calling him princess 💕
oh yes i watched shugo chara as a kid and this is a really cute idea!!! the only amendment i would make is that maybe its something he only likes to hear from bin (which is kinda similar to irl) bc its an affectionate childhood nickname from when they grew up together and it helps ground neul/provide him with a sense of comfort and familiarity as he goes through this drastic change in his life.
sorry im overthinking it bc i really like your idea but i think its sweeter if bin isnt calling neul gendered terms against his will haha alternatively bin could be the only person who always called neul by his real name when even his family wouldnt.

honestly, as a reader, i don't mind seeing writers speak out about the lack of engagement/comments, i don't see it as being ungrateful. as someone that doesn't write, it isn't until i saw writers talk about it that i realized how important it is to them to leave a comment. i see it now as a way to give back to someone whose writing has brought me lots of joy/comfort/laughs :) and it's also really fun to interact with writers through comments! i look for community through fandom and i think that's a cool avenue for that!
i also didn't realize how insane 100k+ fics were until i finished my masters thesis and the word count was not even half of that 😅
thank you so much im really glad that you understand my perspective on this 🥹🥹🥹 comments provide us (or me at least) with the same fulfillment that you feel after finishing a story that you enjoyed!!! and im totally the same as you, i think of fic writing as a way to cultivate positive fandom communities and theres just something so special about forming a connection with strangers around the world through your words alone 🩷 one of my regular readers and commenters is now my best friend of many years hehe
and yes 100k is a lot!! its the average length of a published novel!!!! and in addition to writing, outlining and editing a work of this scale requires so much time and effort 😭 i always feel sooo touched when a comment says something along the lines of "i can tell you worked hard on this" bc although i write for personal and creative fulfillment having someone acknowledge and appreciate your efforts is always so touching and it motivates me to continue contributing to the community 🫂

wait let me join in the fun but the amusement park prompt got me thinking of neul as one of the princesses in the park and one of the skits they have on the regular is his prince proposing to him. what if jealous bin (who works as a kitty mascot or somewhere) not being able to stand seeing his bf getting proposed to, one day blocks the prince mid proposal and proposes instead. idk just a dumb and silly prompt. i just want park princess neul 😂😂
OMGGG I LOVE THIS ADDITION YOURE A GENIUS what if they were flirting/getting to know each other in costume for ages and when bin's jealousy reaches a boiling point and he ruins the skit he also takes off the cat head for the first time and neul is mortified (and relieved?) that this hot guy had been under that silly costume the entire time. then the story has a happy ending where instead of them getting fired they get their own show and storyline bc the video of bin proposing goes viral and their chemistry is that good 😭 bonus points if he meows for neul throughout the fic hehe

Don’t know if anyone’s already written a fic similar to this, but coffee shop vibes where barista Hanbin who works at Ludia needs another part time worker. Exchange student Hao applies for the job and all though unqualified Hanbin immediately falls for his charms and gives him the job. Hanbin teaches Hao the different things while showing off and Hao being extra clumsy on purpose. Maybe one of them get jealous because the customers keep asking for their number and flirts with them🩷☕️
