hii i saw you asked for good news and i wanted to share something. In the country I live in there is an exam shortly after the 8th grade that determines where you go to highschool and then to college, and in the middle of the year we take a practice test and i just got my results back and they’re really good! 9,60 in my native language and a 10 in math! (96 & 100 in america)

Hello sprout!
I saw you asking for good news today and I thought I’d share some of mine! I hope this doesn’t come off as bragging but rather a way to spread the peace while everything feels like it’s burning.
I managed to score significantly lower on the mental health questionnaires my therapist makes me do (still have depression but my anxiety score has dropped to normal levels!), I am now together with a girl I’ve been pining over for a year now, and I found the most beautiful red leaf when walking home today.
In addition, I really hope you know how lovely your work is to us readers. You are genuinely very inspiring and I hope you carry this truth with you as times get harder. It would be a lie to say your words haven’t made me cry before, as well as laugh like crazy (canoe be honest with me especially)

so i actually heard ilya kaminsky read "in a time of peace" out loud and it was really cool, i just really love the line "The body of a boy lies on the pavement exactly like the body of a boy." bc (in my interpretation) it highlights the way art/society can romanticize a body or turn it into a noble sad symbol when it is just a dead body etc
