stop i'm goign to cry this is what i get for not checking my inbox but they'd simply be too nuclear. i think food is definitely something that would bring them together in all their booming, and their first few conversations might be about cute and silly things like lipstick and hair curlers. but honestly i think that they have a lot of shared experiences and understanding of what matters in terms of caring for their own and fostering collective care. they've pretty much experienced opposite ends of the environmental disaster spectrum with sandstorms and floods, as well as attended to the needs of a community after such events occur. commitment to the most underserved populations in their regions is the core of both of their characters, so in terms of values and personal journeys, i don't think they would ever run out of things to talk about over pastries and coffee...my shining stars, my indomitable chungi...

at some point y'all are simply going to have to swallow the hard pill that lesbianism and interpretations of it in media are not an erasure of bisexuality, and setting a condition that a female character's attraction to men must be acknowledged at all times in order to appreciate her love for women is not a championing of bisexuality but a conditioned instinct to define women by that male attraction, as they always have been by a patriarchal society.

i do not care if rhaenyra was portrayed as being attracted to criston and harwin (both of whom i legitimately like). neither of those relationships have had any significant or positive impact on her narrative, nor has she even spared a notable thought about either of them in who knows how long. you are not putting them on the same level as her and alicent's relationship, the very core of this show's storytelling, because of bisexual representation, but because you still need rhaenyra's existence to be at least tangentially connected to men in order to relate to her. being queer doesn't absolve you of that instinct, and lesbians interpreting her attraction to criston and harwin as compulsory does not erase you. i do not have the power to erase you, especially in comparison to the vast majority of the audience who have spent the past 2 years screaming that rhaenyra was Heterosexual to anyone who interpreted her relationship with alicent as romantic.

y'all are always out here fighting the wrong battles with the wrong people yet expecting community to be built around you. take your canon bi tantrums and shove them.

(i hope you can forgive me for keeping this in my inbox for so long, i haven't checked in here in Weeks) this made me cry a little and i'm so so grateful for you and the fact that you've given yourself grace and time for those wounds to heal. i keep this platform available to people despite the risks solely to provide opportunities to have these kinds of valuable conversations and feel some kind of comfort for them. i continue to learn alongside everyone who has ever learned anything from me, and in the midst of how lonely i've felt, it's gives me so much peace to know that there are still people who look at my little corner of the internet with love. thank you for connecting with me in any capacity, and i hope that sometime soon i can feel safer about being open with the things i love again.

-i think that he would visit her in poisson to see her, but i think his primary reason would still be to actively aid the restoration out of responsibility and respect for their shared leadership. the core of their relationship improving the way it did was his realization that he cannot truly meet people's needs from a seat of authority that is so high above them, and she's both an example to him and a medium through which he's able to understand the population he serves, so i think he'd put that first. when the restoration is almost complete and he still continues to visit, well that might just be because she has a beautiful booming smile and bouncy curls and kissable cheeks.

-neuvillette's biggest hurdle in most of his relationships is reconciling his want for closeness with his belief that he can only fulfill his duty effectively by being completely impartial, not counting his attachment to the melusines. he speaks of his feeling distant from navia with sadness/regret and longs to be closer to her without realizing what that means (because by his standard, being distant from her would technically be a good thing). as he observes her more and sees the effectiveness of her leadership that is grounded in human emotions and love, he'll hopefully make the connection that his partiality and affection for her don't cloud his judgement. they just brighten the image that he has of her and provide clarity for what kind of place they both want the world to be.
