AHH I still really love how I've written Two May Keep Counsel, writing Mithra and trying to figure out his voice and represent his thoughts was something I had to ease myself into. He's not a super introspective person, and he often acts before thinking far into repercussions. It's fine to have to put him in a plotline that forces him to actually focus on things and face consequences for his actions. Logistics-wise, I have a whole timeline written out with the events I want to take place and I often re-read and re-write a lot of parts and nit pick them before publishing chapters. It's like my baby at this point haha
